  • Comparative assessment of economic and environmental impacts across eight second-use scenarios for retired lithium iron phosphate batteries in China

Open Access•Xi Tian, Jingxian Di et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Impact Assessment…•2026•References: 53

  • Who is lifting the green veil? Climate physical risks and supply chain spillovers of corporate carbon greenwashing

Open Access•Yun Zhong, Han Yan et al.•ARTICLE•Technology in Society•2026•References: 45

  • IoT-based analysis reveals behavioral differences in public participation in low-value recyclables collection

Open Access•Xi Tian, Kexin Yuan et al.•ARTICLE•Humanities and Social Sciences…•2025

The global recycling rate for low-value recyclables (LVRs) remains low, with inadequate mechanisms and suboptimal participation rates. Emerging smart recycling systems, powered by IoT-enabled monitoring, now offer researchers unprecedented opportunities to analyze real-time behavioral patterns in household recycling practices. However, key knowledge gaps persist, particularly regarding demographic disparities in participation and the drivers infl…

  • Public Communication about Science in 68 Countries

    Open Access•Niels G Mede, Viktoria Cologna et al.•ARTICLE•Science Communication•2025•References: 11

This 68-country survey ( n = 71,922) examines science information diets and communication behavior, identifies cross-country differences, and tests how such differences are associated with sociopolitical and economic conditions. We find that social media are the most used sources of science information in most countries, except those with democratic-corporatist media systems where news media tend to be used more widely. People in collectivist soc…

  • Assessing Nudge Impact

Open Access•Bingjie Hu, Ziqian Xia et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Behavioral Decision…•2025•References: 5

Nudging as a strategy to alter behaviors has garnered increasing attention from both researchers and policymakers. Here, we conduct a second‐order meta‐analysis, synthesizing 13 articles (14 meta‐analyses) that include 1638 primary studies and approximately 30 million participants. We find a small aggregated effect size across these meta‐analyses ( d = 0.27, 95% CI [0.16, 0.38]), which drops to d = 0.004 after adjusting for publication bias. Exam…

  • Trust in scientists and their role in society across 68 countries

    Open Access•Viktoria Cologna, Niels G Mede et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Human Behaviour•2025•Cited by: 7•References: 76

Science is crucial for evidence-based decision-making. Public trust in scientists can help decision makers act on the basis of the best available evidence, especially during crises. However, in recent years the epistemic authority of science has been challenged, causing concerns about low public trust in scientists. We interrogated these concerns with a preregistered 68-country survey of 71,922 respondents and found that in most countries, most p…

  • Factors determining reuse behavior

Open Access•Yanjun Gu, Ziqian Xia et al.•ARTICLE•Cleaner and Responsible Consumption•2024

Reuse represents a critical strategy for prolonging the utility of items while conserving resources. The aim of this meta-analysis is to aggregate and reanalyze previous studies on factors influencing reuse behavior. By integrating data from 59 studies comprising 366 samples, the research assess the relationship between factors based on different motivational goals and reuse behavior. The results reveal that the factors of attitudes, outcome effi…

  • Multinational dynamic steel cycle analysis reveals sequential decoupling between material use and economic growth

Open Access•Xue Yang, Chao Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Ecological Economics•2024
