Revisiting the Global Net Carbon Dioxide Emission Transfers by International Trade: The Impact of Trade Heterogeneity of China
To revisit global net carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions transfers by international trade for year 2007, this study employs a new world‐wide, multiregional input‐output (MRIO) table in which China's production is separated into domestic use, processing exports, and nonprocessing exports. The results show that processing exports in China involves relatively lower CO 2 emissions than other production types for the same output levels. Therefore, if pr…
The potential for reducing China's carbon dioxide emissions: Role of foreign-invested enterprises
Improved Estimation of Regional Input–Output Tables Using Cross-regional Methods
Jiang X., Dietzenbacher E. and Los B. Improved estimation of regional input–output tables using cross-regional methods, Regional Studies. Many regional input–output tables are estimated by means of non-survey methods. Often, information on the margins of the projected table is complemented by full information on intermediate inputs from tables for other regions. This paper compares the performance of four of such ‘cross-regional’ methods. Two of …
Targeting the Collection of Superior Data for the Estimation of the Intermediate Deliveries in Regional Input-Output Tables
It is well known that the intermediate deliveries in (regional) input-output tables are estimated more accurately if nonsurvey techniques are complemented by superior data, obtained via surveys, experts, or other reliable sources. Collecting superior data is costly and it is therefore crucial that the cells for which to collect superior data are well chosen. Several methods have been proposed in the literature. Some of these select a set of indiv…
