  • Dive Into Diversity

Open Access•Taibin Hu, Guanming Shi et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Tourism…•2025

This research is designed to address the knowledge gaps measuring the correlations between food vlogging, price sensitivity, tourism destinations promotion, consumer feedback, and food tourism based on the Stimulus‐Organism‐Response (S‐O‐R) framework. Data was collected from a sample of 398 national and international tourists by using a survey‐based questionnaire in China. • Informal Contracts in an Incomplete Market

Laura Schechter, Guanming Shi et al.•ARTICLE•Economic Development and Cultural…•2025•References: 23

The relative price of locally produced and locally sold milk and cheese in rural Paraguay is puzzling, apparently leaving opportunities for arbitrage. Despite requiring additional labor and inputs, the price of cheese per liter of milk is lower than the price of a liter of fluid milk. We propose a framework of relational contracts to explain this puzzle. Consumers who desire a steady supply of milk enter into relational contracts with producers, …

Open Access•Jean‐paul Chavas, Guanming Shi et al.•ARTICLE•Environment and Development…•2022

Well-functioning factor markets play an important role in improving the performance of the agricultural sector. Our paper examines both technical and allocative efficiencies at the household level, with an application to a cross-section sample of rural households in three provinces of China in 2009. In a first step, we use nonparametric methods to estimate household efficiency. In a second step, we examine econometrically the role of land rental …

  • How Does the Land Rental Market Participation Affect Household Efficiency? Evidence from Rural China

Open Access•Xiaolin Guo, Guanming Shi et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

The active land rental market affects inter-household efficiency. Using nationally representative household panel data in China from 2017 to 2019, we estimate rural household efficiency with consideration of diversification, and analyze the effect of land rental market participation on household efficiency using a control function approach. Results show that: (1) the mean technical efficiency and allocative efficiency were 0.45 and 0.64 in 2017 a…

  • The Role of Assistive Technology in Advancing Sustainable Development Goals

Open Access•Guanming Shi, Shiyao Ke et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Political Science•2022•References: 1

Assistive technologies (AT) have presented significant equalizing opportunities for many to access opportunities and meaningfully participate in society. Enhancing the impact of AT in enabling participation requires an individualized and holistic understanding of the value and meaning of AT for the individual in their unique context. In Southeast Asia (SEA), children with disabilities account for a significant proportion of the population. The SE…
