  • Tillage with straw incorporation reduces the optimal nitrogen rate for maize production by affecting crop uptake, utility efficiency, and the soil balance of nitrogen

Open Access•Zhengyu Wang, Pengxiang Sui et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2023

Understanding the combined effects of tillage and straw incorporation on grain yield and nitrogen (N) fertilizer utilization is vital for sustainable agriculture in northeastern China. How various tillage patterns with straw incorporation affect soil N balance and optimal N rate for crop production remains largely unknown. A four‐year (2015–2018) field experiment was conducted to assess the impact of rotary tillage with maize straw incorporation …

Open Access•Xinyi Wang, Jiao Lyu et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2023

Salinization and alkalization are global environmental issues, and a growing area of saline‐alkali land has been developed as paddy fields. However, the information on the characteristics and driving mechanisms of greenhouse gas (i.e., methane (CH 4 ), carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) and nitrous oxide (N 2 O)) and ammonia (NH 3 ) emissions from paddy fields with different saline‐alkali levels is limited. We conducted a 137‐day mesocosm experiment to inves…

  • The anchoring of inflation expectations in time and frequency domains

    Open Access•Yingying Xu•ARTICLE•Economic Research-Ekonomska…•2019

This paper introduces wavelet analysis as a tool for investigating the anchoring of inflation expectations in the United States. We show that the anchoring of inflation expectations varies for different groups of economic agents and changes across time and frequency. For consumers, we confirm significant lead-lag relationships between short- and long-term inflation expectations at medium frequencies of one to four years of scale, thus suggesting …

  • Theoretical and experimental evidence on stock market volatilities

Open Access•Limin Wang, Yingying Xu et al.•ARTICLE•Economic Research-Ekonomska…•2021

The volume–volatility relationship usually ignores possible effects of stock shares. This article proposes a two-phase flow model assuming that capital and stock flows determine stock price and return volatility. Computational simulations suggest that monodirectional capital or stock flows and collective flows exert different effects on stock return volatilities. Considering the impact of stock flows, the positive relationship between capital and…
