  • An investigation into the efficacy and mechanism of Berchemia kulingensis leaves in suppressing synovial tissue inflammation in a rat model of gouty arthritis

Open Access•Youyi Xiong, Haonan Xu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2026

  • Pesticide poisoning in Zhejiang Province, China

Open Access•Wei Fang, Fang Wei et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

The current situation of pesticide poisoning in Zhejiang Province remains severe and the government should further strengthen the monitoring and governing of pesticide. Moreover, it is imperative that mental health education and early psycho-social interventions be given greater emphasis to effectively reduce pesticide-related suicides

  • Exploring the Relationship between Patients' Personality Traits, Social Encouragement and Recovery

Mengwei Li, Zhong Lian et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Health Behavior•2024

Background: The health behavior reflected through patients' recovery determines the actions and attitudes of such individuals to manage their health-related concerns. However, like other factors, personality traits like Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism would greatly support recovering from any disease the patients suffer. Methods: Covering these personality domains, this research applies an empirical inves…

  • When and who will take the “escape from haze trip”? An empirical study based on large-scale hotel check-in records

Fuhua Shi, Yuewen Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism…•2024•References: 5

Air pollution may push people to either stay indoors or travel to "escape from haze." However, it is still unclear when and who will travel to escape from air pollution. Using a large-scale hotel check-in dataset, we find that the effect of air pollution on travel demand shows an inverted-U shape over cumulative exposure days. Specifically, the effect is negative in a time window of "1–5" days while positive in another time window of "8–13" days.…

  • A review of ES knowledge use in spatial planning

    Open Access•Fang Wei, Xiaowen Zhan•ARTICLE•Environmental Science & Policy•2023

  • Investigation of critical factors influencing the underestimation of hearing loss predicted by the ISO 1999 predicting model

Open Access•Fei Li, Hongwei Xie et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2023

The ISO 1999 predicting model significantly underestimated the noise-induced hearing loss among manufacturing workers. The degree of underestimation became more significant at the noise exposure condition of fewer than ten years, less than 90 dB(A), and higher kurtosis levels. It is necessary to apply kurtosis to adjust the underestimation of hearing loss and consider the applying condition of noise energy metrics when using the ISO predicting mo…

  • Characteristics of pneumoconiosis in Zhejiang Province, China from 2006 to 2020

Open Access•Fang Wei, Panqi Xue et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2023

The current situation of pneumoconiosis in Zhejiang Province was still serious, and government should further strengthen the surveillance of occupational diseases and supervision of enterprises. Moreover, publicity and education regarding pneumoconiosis should be carried out to raise awareness of dust exposure risk and associated health consequences

  • Epidemiological characteristics of occupational chemical poisonings in Zhejiang, China from 2006 to 2020

Open Access•Lifang Zhou, Fang Wei et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

Objective As the second most common occupational disease in China, occupational poisoning is one of the major public health problems that seriously affect workers' health. This study aimed to investigate the epidemiological and occupational characteristics of acute and chronic occupational poisoning cases in Zhejiang Province, so as to provide a scientific basis for proposing intervention measures and preventive strategies of occupational poisoni…

  • Renovation of Informal Green Spaces in Old Urban Residential Communities in Chinese Cities and Related Public Perception Investigation

Open Access•Fang Wei, Yuzhuo Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Landscape Architecture Frontiers•2021

Existing large-scale urban green spaces in a low distribution density can hardly meet citizens’ diverse and growing needs for convenient access and sharing modes, especially to those living in old communities. Compared with formal green spaces, informal green space (IGS) is a new urban green infrastructure contributing to the city’s coconstruction, co-governance, and co-sharing. This study was conducted based on a typical old residential communit…

  • Physical Experience and Space-Time Imagery—research on the Prototype of Landscape Design by Understanding Site, Sight, and Insight

    Open Access•Fang Wei, Zijian HUANG•ARTICLE•Landscape Architecture Frontiers•2020

Contemporary landscape is an important medium that resists the environmental homogeneity and diversifies the cultural imagery. The neglect of physical experience would intensify the perception contradiction and separation between people and the site. This paper proposes to use the prototype of the interactions between the body, time, and space to build an abstract discourse to study the design dimensions of site, sight, and insight based on diffe…

  • Spatial Transformation of Metropolitan Cities

    Open Access•Fang Wei, Paul L Knox•ARTICLE•Environment and Planning A…•2015•Cited by: 7•References: 30

This study investigates the relationships between neighbourhood change and spatial transformation in the North Carolina Piedmont region between 1980 and 2010. The dominant patterns of neighbourhood change, on the one hand, conform to some classical models of metropolitan structure, and, on the other hand, provide new insights on what has been ignored by those models. Trajectories of neighbourhood change reflect both persistent segregation and inc…

  • Neighborhood Change in Metropolitan America, 1990 to 2010

    Open Access•Fang Wei, Paul L Knox•ARTICLE•Urban Affairs Review•2014•Cited by: 40•References: 44

Using k-means cluster analysis and discriminant analysis, this study systematically examines the trajectories of neighborhood change at the census tract level between 1990 and 2010 for all metropolitan and micropolitan areas of the United States. Seven types of neighborhoods are identified using a visualization technique of clustergram and other statistical tests. A sequence of neighborhood change has been identified. This research reveals the pr…
