Mental health during Covid-19 through Online Photovoice (OPV) in China
This study investigates the primary facilitators of and barriers to mental health among Chinese participants during the COVID-19 pandemic. We collected the participants’ experiences using the Online Photovoice (OPV) method and analyzed the data through Online Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (OIPA) to identify key facilitators and barriers. The results of the study revealed 12 major facilitator themes, including social support (21.58%, n …
Restructuring human-animal relations in rural tourism destinations
Various animals are integral inhabitants of rural areas. Together with humans and other nonhuman entities, they constitute the countryside. Rural tourism development is reshaping these components and their interrelations; however, previous studies on tourism-driven rural restructuring have largely focussed on humans while paying limited attention to animals and their agency. Drawing on a relational perspective, this study adopts multispecies ethn…
Dietary inflammatory index mediates the relationship of social determinants of health with blood pressure and obesity in the United States
Purpose Social determinants of health (SDoH) and dietary Inflammatory Index (DII) are pivotal factors in population health. However, whether DII mediates the impact of SDoH on blood pressure and obesity remains insufficiently characterized. This study aimed to quantify the associations among SDoH burden, blood pressure, obesity, and DII, and to further explore the mediating role of DII.Methods Data from 22,870 participants in NHANES 2009–2018 wer…
Does feeling envied lead to knowledge sharing or hiding? A social functional perspective on authentic and hubristic pride
Beyond interpersonal concerns and anxieties, employees who are envied may also perceive self‐advantages and self‐affirmation, which profoundly shape how they interact with colleagues. Drawing on the social functional perspective on emotions, we propose that being envied can simultaneously promote knowledge sharing through authentic pride and induce knowledge hiding through hubristic pride. We further argue that a mastery climate that emphasizes l…

Study on the knowledge, attitude and practice of single photon emission computed tomography among oncology healthcare professionals
Background: Single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) is becoming increasingly popular in oncology. This study endeavors to scrutinize the radiation protection knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) exhibited by healthcare professionals involved in this imaging modality. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted between September 23, 2023, and October 23, 2023, at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University, the F…

The digital economy and power consumption
Financial friction, rare disaster, and recovery policy
The paper introduces financial intermediation into the New Keynesian model with rare disasters, analyzes the impacts of rare disaster shock on the macro economy, and compares the effects of different economic recovery policies. Based on the numerical analysis, this study finds that: (1) rare disaster risk shock retains a negative relationship with consumption levels, and banks increase their leverage ratios to cause risk accumulation; (2) refinan…
A review of the effects of artificial light at night in urban areas on the ecosystem level and the remedial measures
This paper attempts to realize the balance between humans and ecology in designing the nighttime light environment of urban parks by clarifying the influence of nighttime artificial light on the ecosystem of urban parks. Firstly, we reviewed the effects of nighttime artificial light on individual predation and reproduction of animals and personal growth and reproduction of plants. Secondly, we discuss the impact of individual changes caused by ar…
Transportation Infrastructure, Population Mobility, and Public Health
This paper constructs an overlapping generations model, including health human capital, to investigate the impact of transportation investment on public health with population mobility. The theoretical analysis shows that there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between transportation infrastructure and population flow, which also exists between transportation and health. Health is affected by transportation from three aspects: positive output …
A double interaction-based financing group decision-making framework considering uncertain information and inconsistent assessment
Financing group decision-making (FGDM), which is an important stage of project financing, has unique characteristics: large investments and long payback horizons. Its evaluation results are likely to be distorted if we ignore the uncertain information and inconsistent assessment during the decision-making process. In this study, we propose a double interaction-based FGDM framework under uncertain information and inconsistent assessment. We modify…
