Slow fashion is positively related to well-being
Promising Pathways to Enhance Garment Longevity
In the face of global resource constraints and growing environmental challenges, it is crucial to prolong the longevity of garments, thereby slowing down resource consumption and waste in the fashion industry. Previous literature has focused on emotional attachment as the main direction for prolonging the longevity of clothing, such as the relationship between the wearer and the clothing and encouraging increased enjoyable wearing experiences and…
Comprehensive studies of plasma pharmacokinetic and bone tissue distribution in rats to elucidate pharmacodynamic material basis of Psoraleae Fructus treating osteoporosis
Humans have already endangered their shared cultural heritage by amplifying extreme weather events
Novel application of attribution science to cultural heritage for the first time. • Identifies human contributions to changes in extreme weather events at WHSs. • Reveals risk variation across extreme heat, dry spells, and heavy rainfall globally. • WHSs in lower-income countries face increased heat hazards and higher vulnerability. • Future projections show intensifying heat and wider wet dry contrasts at WHSs. World Heritage Sites (WHSs) hold i…
Sustainable Fashion and Traditional Craft
The objective of this study is to investigate the transformative role of experiential learning in sustainable fashion education, with a particular focus on cultural sustainability. We examine how an immersive learning experience impacts young Chinese designers' understanding of cultural preservation and sustainable design practices. Eight participants took part in a 10‐day immersive program in Kyrgyzstan, engaging in traditional craft practices a…
Elucidation of anti-pneumonia pharmacodynamic material basis and potential mechanisms of Xiebai San by combining spectrum–efficacy relationship and surface plasmon resonance
Neuropsychiatric Adverse Events During 12 Months of Treatment With Efavirenz in Treatment-Naïve HIV-Infected Patients in China
Background: Efavirenz (EFV) is widely used in antiretroviral therapy (ART), but the incidence and risk factors of neuropsychiatric adverse events (NPAEs) after EFV treatment have rarely been studied in Chinese ART naïve patients. Methods: This prospective cohort study assessed HIV-infected patients initiating antiretroviral treatment with EFV to determine prevalence of and factors associated with NPAEs over a 12-month follow-up period using the H…
Service acceptance of HIV non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis(nPEP) among college students
The low acceptance of nPEP services was mainly affected by low level of nPEP knowledge among the college students. Further publicity and education of nPEP knowledge were necessary, as well as promotion of knowledge of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment. More attention should be paid to the factors associated with acceptance of nPEP services
Human papillomavirus-related psychosocial impact of patients with genital warts in China
Patients with GW suffered heavy psychological burden, and self-image and sexual-related concern were the primary cause of burdens. It's important to change the current biomedical model to bio-psycho-social model, and establish psychosocial support systems. The distinctions of origins of psychosocial burden between genders identified will be informative for prevention of GW and control efforts in China and other similar settings
Estimation of Autoregressive Models with Two Types of Weak Spatial Dependence by Means of the W-Based and the Latent Variables Approach
We evaluate by means of Monte Carlo simulations the W-based spatial autoregressive model and the structural equation model with latent variables (SEM) to handle two types of simultaneously occurring weak spatial dependence: (i) spillover from a hotspot, and (iia) spillover from first-order, queen contiguous neighbours, (iib) inverse-distance-related spatial units, (iic) the first three nearest neighbours. Although it is possible to account for se…
Population-Based Assessment of Asthma Symptom Burden in Children
Distribution of the CCR5 Gene 32-basepair Deletion in 11 Chinese Populations
A mutant allele of the chemokine receptor gene CCR5 bearing a 32-basepair deletion (delta 32CCR5) could increase the resistance to HIV-1 infection or delayed progression to AIDS. The frequency of this mutation is higher in Europeans than in Asians. To investigate the distribution of this polymorphism in China, 715 individuals from 11 Chinese populations were screened by PCR, including the Han and 10 other ethnic groups. The delta 32CCR5 gene was …
