  • Feasibility, Acceptability and Initial Impact of a Sexual Assault Resistance Program for Trans Women and Trans Feminine People

    Open Access•Danielle S Berke, Maiya Hotchkiss et al.•ARTICLE•Psychology of Women Quarterly•2025•References: 6

Trans women and trans feminine people are exposed to alarming rates of sexual violence in the United States of America. Responsibility for this violence rests solely with perpetrators. However, violence prevention efforts that target perpetrators are generally ineffective, whereas those that empower participants to actively resist assault, termed empowerment self-defense (ESD), show more promise. ESD programs are largely inaccessible to trans wom…

  • Perceptions and experiences of web-prolonged exposure for posttraumatic stress disorder

Open Access•Carmen P Mclean, Madeleine Miller et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Trauma Theory…•2022

Perceptions and experience of Web-PE are favorable and help to highlight the strengths (e.g., flexibility) and challenges (e.g., requiring self-motivation) associated with Web-treatment for PTSD. The results of this study may inform further development of Web-PE or other Web-based treatment programs. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2023 APA, all rights reserved)

  • The effects of web-prolonged exposure among military personnel and veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder

    Open Access•Carmen P Mclean, Edna B Foa et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Trauma Theory…•2020

Web-PE significantly reduced PTSD symptoms in both studies, although the reductions in PTSD symptoms were greater among open trial participants, who were specifically seeking a web-based treatment. Future research should evaluate Web-PE relative to another web-based treatment. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved)

    Madeleine Miller•ARTICLE•Australian Geographer•2019•Cited by: 6•References: 21

The Cavendish banana is Australia’s most popular fruit and marketed as emblematic of Australian nationalisms. In July 2017, the disease-causing fungus Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense was confirmed present on Australia’s largest Cavendish banana farm, in the worst disease incursion that Northern Queensland Cavendish monocrop plantations have yet faced. Confronted with the potential collapse of the industry, banana growers and Biosecurity Queensl…

  • Feeding the flock

    Open Access•E Kirksey, Paul G Munro et al.•ARTICLE•Environment and Planning E Nature…•2018•Cited by: 25•References: 50

Wildlife is persisting in urban areas of Australia even though white settler colonialism has resulted in the large-scale destruction of forested landscapes. While many bird species are in decline, the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo has found emergent opportunities for flourishing within the built environment. Cockatoos are actively generating relationally constituted spaces, drawing humans into urban ecosystems that are 'more-than-human' places, abunda…
