  • Implementation of essential newborn care in settings of high-intensity armed conflict

Open Access•Ahmed Moutwakil, Abhinav Kumar et al.•ARTICLE•BMJ Global Health•2026

INTRODUCTION: A disproportionate share of global neonatal deaths occurs in armed-conflict settings, where progress in reducing neonatal mortality remains slow. This systematic review aims to synthesise the literature on implementing essential newborn care (ENC) interventions in high-intensity armed conflict settings. METHODS: We searched PubMed, CINAHL, Embase and the grey literature from January 2014 to March 2024. Eligible original studies in E…

  • Ontological Individualism Defended

    Open Access•Abhinav Kumar•ARTICLE•Philosophy of the Social Sciences•2026•References: 23

The paper defends ontological individualism from a prominent challenge: that certain social properties depend on “non-individualistic” physical factors. I propose two responses to show that this challenge fails to undermine the thesis of ontological individualism. First, I argue that it uses an implausible interpretation of physical things to call them “non-individualistic.” Second, I raise some doubts regarding whether the challenge leads to an …

  • Explainable Bert-LSTM Stacking for Sentiment Analysis of Covid-19 Vaccination

Open Access•Abhinav Kumar, Jyoti Prakash Singh et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2025

Many people have been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused intense anxiety, fear, and complex feelings or emotions. People’s emotions have changed and become more complicated since coronavirus vaccinations were introduced. Sentiment analysis of COVID-19 vaccination is critical for understanding public perception, vaccine hesitancy, monitoring vaccine impact, identifying adverse reactions, making policies, and allocating re…

  • A framework for addressing water–rock interaction (WRI) for sustainable water resources development using various simulation models

Open Access•Naseem Akhtar, Abdassalam A Azamzam et al.•ARTICLE•Environment Development and…•2025

  • Deep Neural Networks for Location Reference Identification From Bilingual Disaster-Related Tweets

Open Access•Abhinav Kumar, Jyoti Prakash Singh•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2024

Twitter is increasingly being used during disasters to communicate with authorities, ascertain the ground reality, and coordinate real-time rescue and recovery activities. Geographical location information about users and events is critical in these scenarios. Geotagged tweets are extremely infrequent, and other location fields, such as user location and place name, are unreliable. The extraction of geographical information from tweet text is lim…

  • Revisiting neighbourhood proximity based algorithm for overlapping community detection in weighted networks

Open Access•Abhinav Kumar, Pawan Kumar et al.•ARTICLE•Social Network Analysis and Mining•2024•References: 62

  • Comparison of topical agents versus invasive agents in facial acne

    Open Access•Rahul Tiwari, Rahul V C Tiwari et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Health…•2022

The purpose of this present research was to compare the application of topical agent and invasive agent for treatment of facial acne. A total of 124 patients with mild to moderate acne entered this prospective, single-blind study comparing topical (benzoyl peroxide 5%) with invasive treatment (microneedling). There were 60 female and 64 male subjects in the present research. Reductions in the mean number of inflamed and non-inflamed lesions were …

  • Different hyrax expanders for rapid palatial expansion in adolescents with posterior cross-bite

Open Access•Arun Patyal, Hirdepal Singh Brar et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Health…•2022

The posterior cross bite ranges between 10% and 15%. Hence we aim to compare different hyrax expanders for rapid palatial expansion in adolescents with posterior cross-bite. We compared 30 adolescents aged 11 to 16 years, with posterior crossbite, equally divided to groups, Mini Hyrax group and Hyrax group. Dental effects, Impact on quality of life was assessed with the OHIP-14 questionnaire, VAS were compared. We observed that no significant dif…

  • The role of international law in controlling disease outbreaks

  • Disaster related social media content processing for sustainable cities

Open Access•Pradeep Kumar Roy, Abhinav Kumar et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Cities and Society•2021

  • How to design a complex behaviour change intervention

    Open Access•Helen Harris–Fry, Meghan O’Hearn et al.•ARTICLE•BMJ Global Health•2020

Many public health interventions aim to promote healthful behaviours, with varying degrees of success. With a lack of existing empirical evidence on the optimal number or combination of behaviours to promote to achieve a given health outcome, a key challenge in intervention design lies in deciding what behaviours to prioritise, and how best to promote them. We describe how key behaviours were selected and promoted within a multisectoral nutrition…

  • Using 164 Million Google Street View Images to Derive Built Environment Predictors of Covid-19 Cases

Open Access•Quynh C Nguyen, Yuru Huang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020

The spread of COVID-19 is not evenly distributed. Neighborhood environments may structure risks and resources that produce COVID-19 disparities. Neighborhood built environments that allow greater flow of people into an area or impede social distancing practices may increase residents' risk for contracting the virus. We leveraged Google Street View (GSV) images and computer vision to detect built environment features (presence of a crosswalk, non-…
