LLM Plus Machine Learning Outperform Expert Rating to Predict Life Satisfaction From Self-Statement Text
This study explores an innovative approach to predicting individual life satisfaction by combining large language models (LLMs) with machine learning (ML) techniques. Traditional life satisfaction assessments rely on self-report questionnaires, which can be time-consuming and resource intensive. To address these limitations, we developed a method that utilizes LLMs for feature extraction from open-ended self-statement texts, followed by ML predic…
Self-help AI psychological counseling system based on large language models and its effectiveness evaluation
Cyber-Ostracism, Depression, and Adolescents' Cyberbullying Perpetration: A Cross-Lagged Panel Analysis
This study explores the complex dynamics between cyber-ostracism, depression, and cyberbullying among 870 Chinese adolescents (50.9% boys, Mage = 13.03, SD = 0.76). Using a cross-lagged panel analysis, the results found: (1) bidirectional associations between cyber-ostracism and depression, with cyber-ostracism at Time 1(T1) significantly and positively predicted depression at Time 2(T2), and depression at T1 significantly and positively predicte…

The Relationship between Cyber-Ostracism and Adolescents’ Non-Suicidal Self-Injury: Mediating Roles of Depression and Experiential Avoidance
Based on the experiential avoidance model, the current study aims to test the relationship between cyber-ostracism and adolescents' non-suicidal self-injury and to explore the mediating roles of depression and experiential avoidance. A sample of 1062 middle school students completed questionnaires on cyber-ostracism, depression, experiential avoidance, and self-injurious behavior. The results showed that cyber-ostracism, depression, experiential …
The Impact of Mortality Salience, Negative Emotions and Cultural Values on Suicidal Ideation in Covid-19: A Conditional Process Model
As suicides incurred by the COVID-19 outbreak keep happening in many countries, researchers have raised concerns that the ongoing pandemic may lead to "a wave of suicides" in society. Suicidal ideation (SI) is a critical factor in conducting suicide intervention and also an important indicator for measuring people's mental health. Therefore, it is vital to identify the influencing factors of suicidal ideation and its psychological mechanism durin…
