Family support and facilitation activities for young children’s bidirectional connection between preschool and primary school
Family support and facilitation activities are essential for the transition from preschool to primary school as they serve to bridge the gap between the home and school learning environments. Previous studies focused on examining the transition from lower levels to higher levels (e.g., preschool to primary school), few researchers shed high on the bidirectional connection between preschool to primary schools for children aged 6–7 years old. In or…
Green game among government, enterprises, and the public
This study utilizes a tripartite evolutionary game model to analyze the strategic decisions and their influencing factors among governments, businesses, and the public during the green transformation of enterprises. Our research demonstrates that by modifying environmental regulations and subsidy levels, it is feasible to attain an optimal system equilibrium state, characterized by either stringent or lenient governmental oversight, active public…

Stimulated political decisions
How do politicians distribute government resources in regimes with no electoral considerations? We propose that new politicians minimize political risks by favoring politically important actors: state-owned enterprises (SOEs), but they adjust their behavior as they establish personal ties with private businesses. Using firm-level subsidies data after the 2008 stimulus in China, we find that new provincial governors, immediately after taking offic…
An Analysis of the Dilemma of Implementing the Rule of Law at the Grassroots Level in China—Centered on Rural China —Implementation of the Rule of Law in China—Taking Rural China as the Core
The Chinese speak of “family” is a very flexible way, and it can even be extended to an infinite distance. It can be a family member with blood ties, a friend with brotherhood, or a family and a country with geographical scope. At a time when China needs more rule of law and fairness and justice, the notions established by blood and geography in traditional culture collide with the needs of today’s China’s development. This paper takes the charac…
Over the shoulder enforcement in European regulatory networks
Across many domains, the European Union relies on a system of regulatory network-based enforcement. National agencies work with peers to carry out on-the-ground implementation of supranational law. Network-based enforcement, however, raises concerns including regulatory capture and shirking. We explore how a novel governance tool – arbitrage mitigation mechanisms – may address some of these issues. These mechanisms are formal institutional proced…
Institutional Design, Information Transmission, and Public Opinion
Domestic debates about trade have increased the salience of international economic cooperation among the public, raising the question of whether, and how, domestic support can be rallied in support of international trade agreements. We argue that institutional features of trade agreements provide important cues to domestic audiences that shape support, particularly the membership composition and voting rules for multilateral deals. We use two sur…
