Analysis of potential categories and influencing factors of chronic disease comorbidity patterns among residents of Yantai City based on the health ecology model
Objective: To explore the latent category characteristics of chronic disease comorbidity among residents in Yantai City, Shandong Province, based on the theoretical framework of the health ecology model, and to identify key factors influencing different comorbidity patterns, thereby providing scientific basis for formulating targeted chronic disease prevention and control strategies. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in Yantai City …
Exploring the effects of altered concentrations of PM2.5 and its constituents on the incidence risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus and glucose and lipid indicators
Reductions in the concentrations of PM 2.5 and its constituents were significantly associated with a lower risk of T2DM and improvements in glucose and lipid metabolism, particularly for decreases in mixed pollutant concentrations. Subgroup analyses suggested that women and older adults may be the primary beneficiaries of improved air qualities
Construction and evaluation of leukemia suicide risk predictive model based on Seer database
We have successfully developed an intuitive and robust predictive model for assessing the suicide risk among leukemia patients. This model holds the potential to contribute to the reduction of preventable deaths
Comparison of secular trends of leukemia in China and the United States from 1990 to 2021 and their projections for the next 15 years
Background: Leukemia imposes a large healthcare burden both in China and the United States (US). The disease burden differs greatly between the two countries, but related research is limited. We explored the differences in leukemia incidence and mortality between China and the US. Methods: Data on leukemia in China and the US from 1990 to 2021 were collected from the Global Burden of Disease 2021 database. Incidence and mortality were used to est…

The evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) facilitates the creation of multimodal information of mixed quality, intensifying the challenges individuals face when assessing information credibility. Through in-depth interviews with users of generative AI platforms, this study investigates the underlying motivations and multidimensional approaches people use to assess the credibility of AI-generated information. Four major motivations driving use…
Government environmental regulation strategy for new pollutants control in mariculture
A study of temperature variability on admissions and deaths for cardiovascular diseases in Northwestern China
TV was an independent risk factor for the increase of O&ER visits for CVDs, suggesting effective guidance such as strengthening the timely prevention for vulnerable groups before or after exposure, which has important implications for risk management of CVDs
How does industrial agglomeration affect green innovation efficiency in high-tech industries?—Evidence from China
Linking Online Vaccine Information Seeking to Vaccination Intention in the Context of the Covid-19 Pandemic
This study examines how online vaccine information seeking is related to vaccination intention in the United States and China during the initial stage of their coronavirus disease 2019 vaccination programs. Analysis of the pooled sample showed a positive relationship between online vaccine information seeking and vaccination intention. There was also a negative indirect effect via perceived information overload, vaccine risk perception, and negat…
Association between Short-Term Exposure to Air Pollution and Dyslipidemias among Type 2 Diabetic Patients in Northwest China
Air pollution exposure may play an adverse role in diabetes. However, little data are available directly evaluating the effects of air pollution exposure in blood lipids of which dysfunction has been linked to diabetes or its complications. We aimed to evaluate the association between air pollution and lipids level among type 2 diabetic patients in Northwest China. We performed a population-based study of 3912 type 2 diabetes patients in an ongoi…
Gender, Age and Season as Modifiers of the Effects of Diurnal Temperature Range on Emergency Room Admissions for Cause-Specific Cardiovascular Disease among the Elderly in Beijing
A short-term increase of DTR was significantly associated with ER admissions for cause-specific cardiovascular disease among the elderly in Beijing. Gender, age and season may modify the acute health effect of DTR. Some prevention programs that target the high risk subgroups in the elderly for impending large temperature changes may reduce the impact of DTR on people's health
Short-Term Effects of Gaseous Pollutants and Particulate Matter on Daily Hospital Admissions for Cardio-Cerebrovascular Disease in Lanzhou
Panel studies show a consistent association between increase in the cardiovascular hospitalizations with air pollutants in economically developed regions, but little evidence in less developed inland areas. In this study, a time-series analysis was used to examine the specific effects of major air pollutants [particulate matter less than 10 microns in diameter (PM(10)), sulfur dioxide (SO(2)), and nitrogen dioxides (NO(2))] on daily hospital admi…
