Recent debates about hospitality and religious diversity frequently hinge on unspoken notions of home. This is especially true in the Canadian province of Quebec, where citizens have worked to establish a secular state after a history of domination by the Catholic Church. This essay represents a preliminary attempt to devise a method for examining words and their apparently equivalent translations as they appear in the news media.
