    Amir Saeed, Daniel Kilvington•ARTICLE•Soccer and Society•2011•Cited by: 3•References: 7

However, although overt racism within the game has perhaps reduced, other forms of racism still exist and may have contributed to the lack of professional British-Asian football players. This essay will (a) explore notions of nationa…

  • And the Increase in Racism and Islamophobia

    Amir Saeed•ARTICLE•Radical History Review•2011

This essay attempts to give a personal reaction to the increase in anti-Muslim racism in the post-9/11 world, especially in the United Kingdom. It suggests that recent debates about multiculturalism show evidence of a neo-Orientalist backlash. This construction needs to be challenged by the creation of a common dialogue, one which can be enhanced by recognizing the roots of Islam in principles of social justice
