    Open Access•Manuel Ebner, Aya Kachi et al.•ARTICLE•Energy Research & Social Science•2025•References: 40

There has been a sharp increase in sub-national climate mitigation initiatives since the 2000s. However, the impact of these initiatives on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions remains unclear. In this study, we construct a panel combining emissions data with local climate policies reported to transnational municipal networks, and public opinion data for 218 European Union sub-national regions for the years 2010–2019. We use this dataset to test if pub…

This is not to say that it has been entirely plain sailing - sensitive debate, isolated interethnic violence, and the degree of migrant g…

  • The Fight with the Moray-Eel

    Stratis Tsirkas, Kevin Andrews•ARTICLE•boundary 2•1973

Up, up, up--I kept hauling up quickly, the way Aralos showed me. Every so often I'd look down. Twenty fathoms of line; there was no end to it. One moment I stopped and bent over and saw the thing, it was still deep down. Two or three of its coils were coming up, one on top of another, just as quietly as could be. They were all sitting on the ground, a circle of them in the dusk. One man wore the uniform, another was just in short underpants--whit…
