Optimizing Covid-19 vaccination strategies for high-risk populations: Potential and challenges of combining heterologous boosting with respiratory mucosal delivery
Despite the decline of the global peak of COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2 continues to circulate, evolve, and undergo immune escape, posing persistent threats, particularly to older adults, individuals with comorbidities, and immunocompromised populations. Although existing vaccination strategies have substantially reduced the risks of severe disease, hospitalization, and death, their ability to block infection and transmission remains limited, and protecti…
A Study of the FBI's Surveillance of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (1941–1965)
During the Cold War, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted extensive surveillance of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), claiming to protect national security and prevent communist infiltration. Influenced by J. Edgar Hoover's personal biases against the civil rights movement, the FBI used methods such as wiretapping, infiltration, and psychological tactics. These surveillance operations had a con…

The thermal effect of snow cover on ground surface temperature in the Northern Hemisphere
Snow cover is critical to the ground thermal regime because it affects surface conditions and the energy balance. Prior work inherently included confounding effects from vegetation and the soil when estimating the snow’s effect by using the differences between air and ground surface or soil temperature. Here we use the Kudryavtsev model including a snow module to isolate the effect of only the snow cover during winter, based on observational site…
Health lifestyles of six Zhiguo ethnic groups in China: A latent class analysis

To go or not to go: Multiple identities and the effects of ambivalence
This study unpacks how a person’s multiple identities affect their decision making when selecting a tourism destination. For instance, perceived social audience admiration combined with animosity might produce ambivalence, leading to greater decision-making uncertainty. Findings show that tourists with greater ambivalence towards particular destination countries …
