In this longitudinal qualitative study we explored the lived experiences of young Black men who have sex with men in Dallas, Texas in relation to methamphetamine use, intimate partner violence and a history of incarceration as syndemic conditions that may contribute to their risk of transmitting or acquiring HIV. This paper presents findings from a qualitative study undertaken with 46 African and African Caribbean men exploring their experiences of fatherhood. Data analysis was informed by Connell’s theoretical work on changing gender relations. While pregnant women's views about antenatal screening have been widely researched, those of expectant fathers remain underexplored. Interviews were thus conducted with 12 men and 6 women, either during pregnancy or soon after birth. Relationship between the Qt and Wais in a Restricted Clinical Sample
52 Negro patients at Milledgeville State Hospital were administered all forms of the QT and an abbreviated Verbal, Performance, and Full Scale WAIS. QT IQs averaged 7 to 8 points higher than WAIS IQs, but the scores for the two instruments were highly correlated. The QT was found to be equally efficacious above and below the demarcation (IQ 70) between normality and mental deficiency. Es suggest the use of the QT as an initial screening device
The Quick Test as An Index of Intellectual Ability on a Negro Admission Ward
Quick Test IQs of 102, 96, and 76 for 30 Negro attendants (high school), 11 Negro attendants (non-high school), and 53 Negro patients (range of 0 yr. to Master's, Mdn = Grade 10) of a Southern state hospital were positively related to the educational (socio-economic) levels of the groups and were lower than the mean IQ of the normative Caucasian adults.
