  • The Prevalence and Health Implications of Concha Bullosa in a Population from Mediaeval England

    Open Access•May, S Mays et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2014•Cited by: 2•References: 45

Concha bullosa is hypertrophy of the middle nasal concha attributable to its pneumatisation. It is considered to be the most common anatomical variant of the ostiomeatal complex, but it has been little studied in skeletal populations. It is uncertain whether the prevalence of concha bullosa varies in different world populations. Some have suggested that it predisposes to sinusitis, but this is controversial. The aim of the current work is to asse…

  • The Origin of the Broads

    J N Jennings, J M Lambert•ARTICLE•Geographical Journal•1953•Cited by: 4

IN an R.G.S. Research Memoir just published,1 a theory attributing the origi of most of the Norfolk Broads to certain natural ph siographical processes was advanced. Briefly, it postulated that the formation of the broads could be explained in terms of a geologically very recent marine transgression of the Norfolk river valleys, during which a thick wedge of estuarine clay was laid down over the earlier valley peats; the broads themselves were th…
