  • The Future of Alaska

    George Rogers•BOOK•The Future of Alaska•2013

This book is both a discussion of key decisions Alaskans must make in coming years and a case study of problems of public finance and policy that accompany shifts in power. Originally published in 1962

  • The Circumpolar North: A Political and Economic Geography of the Arctic and Sub-Arctic

    J F Wright, John Wright et al.•ARTICLE•Geographical Journal•1980•Cited by: 2

A sub-title describes this book as a political and economic geography of the Arctic and sub-Arctic, and it was designed to be more of a text and reference book than as something to be read right through for interest and pleasure. No single reviewer could hope to judge of its accuracy when, for example, the first named author has spent more of his life than, probably, any other English speaker studying the available Russian literature on the subje…

  • Decorated Terra Sigillata at Montans (Tarn) from the Manuscript of Elie Rossignol at Albi

Grace Simpson, Marion Cox et al.•ARTICLE•Britannia•1976

This paper contains the first attempt to illustrate Montans decorated bowls unconfused with the products of other factories. The Rossignol manuscript reveals that many Montans moulds and bowls have degenerate styles which are similar to bowls found in second-century contexts in Britain. In conclusion, the Hofmann system for the identification of master stylists is recommended for the study of South Gaulish decorated bowls. T HE research described…

  • Off-shore oil and gas developments in Alaska: Impacts and conflicts

    Open Access•George W Rogers, George Rogers•ARTICLE•Polar Record•1974•References: 2

After three years' delay, work started early in 1974 on the construction of the trans-Alaska pipeline from Prudhoe Bay on the Arctic coast of Alaska 1 270 km to Valdez on the Gulf of Alaska (Ronhovde. 1974). Within three years, the line should be delivering 1.2 million barrels per day, a volume that will be increased eventually to a daily flow of 2 million barrels. Gas production on the North Slope of Alaska will probably be exported through Cana…
