Understanding Safeguarding for People Living with Dementia
People living with dementia face a disproportionately high risk of abuse and neglect, yet safeguarding responses remain underexplored, particularly within the context of English legal and care systems. This realist review investigates how safeguarding practices for people with dementia operate in England, examining what works, for whom, in what circumstances, and why. Drawing on 44 studies published between 2014 and 2024, supplemented by extensiv…
Treatment Burden and Uncertainty in the Context of Advanced Multimorbidity
Advanced multimorbidity is the term used to describe when someone has multiple chronic conditions including those which are associated with palliative care needs. People living with advanced multimorbidity have to coordinate and undertake lots of different tasks related to their chronic conditions, and this can lead to them feeling overburdened, and disengagement from treatment regimes. To Quote or Not to Quote? Categorizing Quotations in the Epistle to the Hebrews
An overview of the appendices in NA 28 and UBS 5 reveals that the editors agreed regarding the number of quotations in Hebrews on 37 occasions. The compilers of these lists did not provide a basis for their conclusions, and inability to agree on the number of intertexts could be due to multiple reasons. The purpose of this study, therefore, was t…
Principal component analysis of the geochemistry of soil developed on till in Northern Ireland
This paper presents results from the first regional statistical analysis of soils developed on till in Northern Ireland, using the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland's Tellus geochemical database. Till geochemistry is largely determined by its parent bedrock and soils developed on tills are known to inherit this geochemical signature. Soil geochemistry from areas of till can therefore be used to establish sediment provenance which in turn prov…

Egyptian State Capitalism in Crisis
Most analyses of Egypt in the 1970s, whether political or economic, have a central concern, the liberalization policies of the Sadat regime. The reason for this focus is clear; rather striking and deep-seated changes took place in Egypt under the heading of that policy. Most analyses, however, suffer two major drawbacks; they fail to integrate the political and the economic and they take an approach with a very short historical vision. In doing s…
