O presente artigo visa lançar algumas questões sobre a segregação dos povos originários brasileiros a partir do que Lacan formulou sobre a segregação e o racismo, sustentando a hipótese de que se operou e ainda se opera uma segregação dos referidos povos através da fraternidade. Propomos uma aposta no discurso do psicanalistas para questionar tal segregação

Every year since 1993, the Robert Wood Johnson Community Health Leadership Program has recognized 10 innovative leaders. Twelve of them were selected for interviews about leadership. This article relates lessons they gained in the pursuit of social justice through community health. Interviews with leaders of civil rights efforts in four rural communities in the South suggest how narratives nurture political resistance among repressed and subordinated groups. Narratives provide group members historical precedents of individual and collective resistance, an alternative explanation of the group's condition, and an exposition of the virtues of a group that others consider virtueless. The residents of Aberfan, a coal-mining village in South Wales, endured a terrible catastrophe which took the lives of 144 residents, 104 of them schoolchildren between the ages of 8 and 10. Philip Selznick's examination of cooptation reinterpreted the idealized reputation of TVA's grassroots administration as the ordinary pursuit of organizational needs. This article examines cooptation in TVA since Selznick's study including a new round of cooptation related to reforms beginning in 1977. This later look at cooptation shows it to be a changing balance of coopted groups, an agency's leadership, and an agency's political environment. …

Shortly after World War II, the Appalachian coal industry underwent a dramatic transformation which, with hindsight, we can understand as part of a shift in the American economy from an industrial to post‐industrial economic base.
