Novel Knowledge: Judgment, Experience, Experiment
Cet article vise à montrer que le roman de la première moitié du XVIIIe siècle, dans le contexte de la révolution scientifique, est un roman expérimental, quoiqu’il faille concevoir l’expression dans un sens différent de celui qu’entend Zola lorsqu’il affirme que “ le raisonnement expérimental est basé sur le doute.” Quoique le doute demeure une position épistémologique implicite au XVIIIe siècle, le roman n’en participe pas moins des aspirations…
