Heather Smith, Heather M Smith et al.•ARTICLE•Sixteenth Century Journal•2026

This study explores the sonic dimensions of Cosimo I de’Medici’s triumphal entry into Siena on 28 October 1560. Tracing the histories of three prominent sounds in the procession, this analysis parses how these sounds interacted with one another, as well as with visual elements and urban space in the 1560 procession. This article posits that these sounds communicated a sonic language of political dominance which effectively co-opted Sienese civic …

Suicide is a major public health concern in the United States. Veterans are among those at higher risk for death by suicide. Firearm ownership is one factor that contributes to veterans' elevated suicide risk. The current study sought to determine the effectiveness of an evidence-based, multi-media advertising campaign with a specific focus on veterans related to secure storage of firearms and general help-seeking attitudes during a mental health…

We identified a need to broaden the cognitive frame of utilities to account for flexible concepts of enhanced…

We bridge these two literatures and evaluate the effects of UN involvement in Kosovo, Haiti and Sierra Leone. We look …

  • Groups for children of divorced parents

The argument is that it is important for children to have the opportunity of sharing their feelings, in a confidential setting, about such a momentous change in their lives. Children's groups are a way of meeting this need. In the Family Law Act 1996 new procedures relating to divorce are proposed. It is arguable that an opportunity has been lost, because …
