Mapping Evaluated University Primary Prevention Interventions Against a Whole-of-University Framework
While sexual violence on university campuses is a widespread issue, universities have been slow to implement interventions to respond to or prevent sexual violence. Primary prevention interventions address the root causes of sexual violence, and universities offer a unique opportunity for implementing them through a whole-of-university approach. Using a scoping review method, we mapped existing peer-reviewed literature from high-income countries …
“Building the Plane as We Fly It”
This article examines how gendered institutional arrangements in Australian sport shape the reporting of gender‐based violence (GBV) against adult women and gender‐diverse people. Using feminist institutionalism, we analyze the formal and informal rules that structure sport integrity systems and the gendered power relations they reproduce. Drawing on semi‐structured interviews with 18 policy administrators and integrity staff, we show how GBV is …
Policy responses to reports of gender-based violence against women by Australian sporting organisations and best-practice principles

This case study of one Australian sport builds on the concept of gender regimes to examine experiences of gender harassment of women in a variety of roles. Gender harassment is …
Understanding the Constraints Shaping Women’s Intentions to Stop Playing Community Sport
But What Does it Look Like in Maths
In response to urgent calls for teaching that is culturally affirming, scholars have developed a myriad of images of culturally sustaining (and related) pedagogies (CSPs). However, for maths teachers, CSPs remain elusive, in part because these images are typically content-neutral and their applicability to practice opaque. In this paper, I synthesize research to help conceptualize and clarify what CSPs may look like specifically in mathematics cl…
The 'Boys' Club', sexual harassment, and discriminatory resourcing
Sport official's experience of abuse in their role is well documented, but the additional gendered barriers that women officials face are not. This study used Concept Mapping to explore the most important and frequent barriers that women referees and officials in Australian basketball face. Results were analyzed according to the Socio-Ecological Framework with a feminist lens, which demonstrated the complexity and interconnectedness of barriers b…
