Chinese Education and Society A Bibliographic Guide: A Bibliographic Guide
This title was first published in 1972: This bibliography is the most comprehensive and up-to-date reference work available on developments in Chinese education since 1966. Australian Aborigines: A growing or contracting minority
The demographic study of aboriginal populations in Australia has been somewhat neglected until the last two decades. The historical study of aboriginal groups, from either the perspectives of epidemiology, morbidity or longevity, as a consequence has received little attention by health, education or welfare professionals until more recently. Some of the current studies, reviewed in this article, link historical approaches made in earlier studies …
China‐ Vietnam: Notes on population and the development of school programmes for population education
Recently introduced population education programs in the school cirriculum in China, a country with a vigorous population policy and in Viet Nam, a country with a less vigorous population policy, were described and compared. Estimated annual growth rates are 1.4% for China and 2.2% for Vietnam. Both countries ha…
Vietnam ́s Population: Current Notes
In an effort to curb the population growth rate, currently estimated at 2.5%/year, the government of Vietnam has stepped up its campaign to implement a national family planning program. 1979 census figures indicate a population of 52.76 million. There is increasing government awareness of the interaction between population growth, employment, and manpower utilization. The demographic realities of Vietnam necessitate a drastic decrease in fertilit…

Family Planning and Sex Education: The Chinese Approach
The limitation of population growth in China to about 1.7% annually is in large part the result of changing sexual norms which have been brought about by community-wide sexual education. These changes include elevating the status of women dismissing the traditional striving for male children as old fashioned and emphasizing responsible parenthood. About 6% of Chinas population is made up of minority peoples some 54 distinctive groups including a …

Count Leopold Berchtold: Eighteenth century educational travel counselor
In this year, when over sixty thousand foreign students have journeyed from all over the world to study in the United States, and when over a million Americans will spend their summer overseas, it is interesting, from the historical point of view, to note an encyclopaedic eighteenth century work designed to aid in the education of would-be travellers. It has for its title the lengthy and self explanatory inscription
