“A Brain That Never Sleeps”
The master narrative of ADHD as a condition affecting mostly White boys ‒ who eventually “grow out” of it ‒ creates barriers for adult Black women to be diagnosed and treated. Counter-narratives can challenge traditional thinking and create room for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to resist harmful master narratives. This arts-based study asked Black women diagnosed with ADHD (N = 166) to describe their illness journey as a novel, includin…
How Individuals Use Metaphors to Negotiate Fertility Treatment Decision-Making with Their Romantic Partners
Fertility problems, or the inability to conceive or carry a pregnancy to term for a period of over 12 months while engaging in unprotected sex, affects 12% of women and 9% of men of childbearing age. To answer calls for more research about individuals’ fertility decision-making (DM) with their partners, we conducted in-depth, semi-structured interviews with 53 individuals who have experienced fertility decision-making with a romantic partner at s…

Western Governors University (WGU) compiled a list of each state regulators’ response to COVID, many of which included relaxation of student teaching requirements. While most of WGU’s teacher preparation programme is delivered online, students complete obs…
Amicus cum Laude
In this manuscript, I utilize an ethnodramatic methodology in reanalyzing two data sets about college friends disclosing and receiving mental health-related information. After describing ethnodrama and how this methodology applies to mental health-related inquiry, I detail my process of creating an ethnodrama from two extant data sets. The result is an ethnodrama called Amicus cum Laude: Becoming a Friend with Honor for Mental Illness, a one-act …
Effects of Climate Change on Soils in Glacial Deposits, Wind River Basin, Wyoming
Soil chronofunctions are often quasilinear, but those relationships may be only gross, fortuitous generalizations that ignore changes in soils resulting from climatic and other cyclic external influences that govern soil formation or soil degradation. In the Rocky Mountains, soil development has been extensively used to estimate the age of sediments, but the number of soils is usually few, and large ranges in values for soil data may be dismissed…
