Evaluating the Particulate Matter and Carbon Dioxide Reduction of Four Broad-leaved Evergreen Plants
Background and objective: Since people spend 70-80% of their time indoors, the quality of indoor air has become a crucial factor in overall health. Therefore, poor indoor air quality can have significant adverse effects on our well-being. Common indoor air pollutants are particulate matter (PM) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Plants can remove PM and CO2 through the photosynthesis process and leaf surfaces, and regulate the temperature and humidity of …
An Analysis on Research Trends in Rural Spaces using Text Mining
Background and objective: As the significance and function of rural areas change, the value of rural space has become increasingly recognized in modern society. Consequently, while the concept of rural space has developed over time and led to modifications in relevant policies, there are insufficient studies that focus on these changes based on a broad definition of rural space. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze trends in rural space…
The Effect of Periodontitis on Body Size Phenotypes in Adults without Diagnosed Chronic Diseases
We aimed to examine the correlation between periodontitis and body size phenotypes in 7301 participants without diagnosed chronic diseases in the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2013–2015. The participants were categorized into the following body size phenotype groups based on body mass index and the presence of metabolic syndrome: metabolically healthy normal weight (MHNW), metabolically abnormal normal weight (MANW), met…
Impact of Social Jetlag on Weight Change in Adults
Social jetlag, the circadian misalignment reflecting the discrepancy between the circadian clock and social clock, has been implicated in weight-related issues. The objective of the present study was to determine whether there was an association between social jetlag and body weight change among adults in a large, nationally representative general population. This study was based on data from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination S…
Prevalence and Risk Factors for Undiagnosed Glucose Intolerance Status in Apparently Healthy Young Adults Aged <40 Years
Background: Early-onset diabetes results in longer lifetime hyperglycemic exposure that consequently leads to earlier chronic diabetes complications and premature death. The aim of this study was to quantify the prevalence and risk factors of undiagnosed diabetes and undiagnosed prediabetes in apparently healthy young adults aged Methods: This study used data from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, a cross-sectional, nat…
Effect of program type and reward timing on customer loyalty
We examined the effect on customer loyalty of the type of loyalty program (paid vs. free) and timing of rewards (immediate vs. delayed). To test the research objectives we recruited 142 Korean college students and used a 2 × 2 full-factorial, randomized experimental design. Results suggested that the membership fee in paid loyalty programs acted as a sunk cost, which, compared to free loyalty programs, led to greater loyalty to the provider. An i…
Business Relationship Strategy for Foreign-Invested Enterprises in China
Although the role of Guanxi in China as a form of relationship marketing (RM) has received increasing attention in recent years, few empirical studies have indicated that Guanxi has more impact on performance than RM in the Chinese market. Foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs) may have some difficulty in fully practicing RM in China without considering the influence of Guanxi. In this regard, this study is guided by the following research question:…
Development of the Korean Version of the Consortium to Establish a Registry for Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Packet (Cerad-K)
A Korean version of the Consortium to Establish a Registry for Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Packet (CERAD-K) was created. The English-American version of CERAD clinical and neuropsychological assessment batteries was translated into Korean, and the psychometrical properties of the cognitive tests in the CERAD-K were established. In the translation, including back-translation, the basic structures of all measures in the original CERAD batteries …
