Gender difference in the change of adolescents’ mental health and subjective wellbeing trajectories
The impact of area level mental health interventions on outcomes for secondary school pupils
In light of the dramatic rise in mental health disorders amongst adolescents seen in the past decade across the world, there is an urgent need for robust evidence on what works to combat this trend. This paper provides the first robust evaluation of the impacts on school outcomes of 6-year funding programme (HeadStart) for area-level mental health interventions for adolescents. Heading Up or Stuck Down Here? The Effect of Perceived Economic Mobility on Subjective Social Status and Brand Identification
In this research, we show that the perception of economic mobility plays an important role in individuals’ minds and decisions. A mixed methods evaluation of a peer mentoring intervention in a UK school setting
The English Voluntary Sector

We argue that the situation of these organisations needs to be conceptualised in a more holistic …
New Forms of Dualization? Labour Market Segmentation Patterns in the UK from the Late 90s Until the Post-crisis in the Late 2000s
Effect of Regulatory Focus on Selective Information Processing
Individuals tend to selectively rely on information consistent with their attitudes or decisions. In this research, we examine the possibility that regulatory focus influences selective information processing. We find that individuals selectively rely on information consistent with their regulatory orientation under high (vs. low) information load. Specifically, under high information load, relative reliance on positive (vs. negative) information…
The Effect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Activities on Companies With Bad Reputations
Based on theories of attribution and suspicion, three experiments highlight the mediating role of perceived sincerity of motives in determining the effectiveness of CSR activities. CSR activities improve a company's image when consumers attribute sincere motives, are ineffective when sincerity of motives is ambiguous, and hurt the company's image when motives are perceived as insincere. Variables affecting perceived sincerity include the benefit …
