Open Access•Yilong Yang, Shuyi Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Intelligence•2026

The expanding role of artificial intelligence (AI) in education raises important questions about how AI-supported learning may foster higher-order thinking and creative talent development. Guided by social cognitive theory, the current research examined how AI self-efficacy predicts creativity among second language (L2) learners through the mediating roles of AI literacy and critical thinking disposition. Two substudies were conducted. Study 1 (N…

Open Access•Dongrun Liu, Yongkang Fu et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica•2026

Mobile phone addiction among nursing interns may trigger social anxiety, making it an important issue in nursing education. • The exploration and global contributions of China's transit-oriented development (TOD) model

Open Access•Penglin Li, Shuyi Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Futures•2026

This study focuses on China's full-cycle "planning-construction-operation" TOD model, employing empirical analysis of Hangzhou's ten-stage development framework and Beijing's phased optimisation practices to systematically elucidate its theoretical innovations and practical value in addressing challenges of rapid urbanisation. Through case studies of Chinese TOD implementations, it distils a high-density governance paradigm applicable to East Asi…

Background: Mutual support in old age care fully respects the autonomy and initiative of the older adult, and has become a practical option for solving the problem of mutual support in old age in China. This study investigates the willingnes…

  • Dynamic functional connectivity of the amygdala-hippocampal complex is associated with cognitive impairment in adolescents with Internet gaming disorder

Open Access•Tao Zhao, Shuyi Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

These findings suggest that aberrant dynamic connectivity of the AHC, particularly its disrupted interaction with VN, may underlie the cognitive impairments in adolescents with IGD. This study provides novel insights into the neurobiological basis of behavioral addiction and highlights the importance of dynamic network analysis in elucidating its underlying pathology

  • The characteristics of formula milk marketing on health system

Open Access•Yinghang Wang, Hanxiyue Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

Formula milk marketing aims to influence the practices and services within the health system in China, both directly through health professionals and facilities, and also indirectly by targeting mothers. These marketing strategies have impacted the perceptions of providers on formula milk, and strategies targeting consumers have aimed to further influence and undermine mothers' intentions to continue breastfeeding. Stricter regulation of industry…

  • How the marketing practices of commercial milk formula companies impact infant breastfeeding practices in China

Open Access•Zhonghai Zhu, Anuradha Narayan et al.•ARTICLE•BMJ Global Health•2023

BACKGROUND: The marketing practices used by commercial milk formula (CMF) companies undermine breast feeding. However, it remains unclear how specific types of marketing practices result in suboptimal breast feeding. OBJECTIVES: We aimed to examine the associations of CMF marketing practices with breastfeeding outcomes, determine the influencing pathways, how it changes the perceptions and attitudes of mothers towards CMF, and how it impacts brea…

  • Unattended Emotional Prosody Affects Visual Processing of Facial Expressions in Mandarin-Speaking Chinese

Open Access•Pan Liu, Simon Rigoulot et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Cross-Cultural…•2021

Emotional cues from different modalities have to be integrated during communication, a process that can be shaped by an individual’s cultural background. We explored this issue in 25 Chinese participants by examining how listening to emotional prosody in Mandarin influenced participants’ gazes at emotional faces in a modified visual search task. We also conducted a cross-cultural comparison between data of this study and that of our previous work…

  • Joint China-US Call for Employing a Transdisciplinary Approach to Emerging Infectious Diseases

    Open Access•Jonna A K Mazet, Wei Qin et al.•ARTICLE•EcoHealth•2015

In the spring of 2013, a newly pathogenic H7N9 influenza virus emerged in people in China, likely associated with wild and domestic birds (Kageyama et al. 2013). Marking the exact scenario that public health experts had feared—people were being infected, getting sick, and dying without the source of the virus being rapidly and definitively identified. In the absence of a clear understanding of the mode of transmission, early control of this epide…

  • Parasite Threat to Panda Conservation

Open Access•Jin-Shuo Zhang, Maria Madalena Gonçalves et al.•ARTICLE•EcoHealth•2008

The giant panda is a global symbol of wildlife conservation that is threatened by historic and current habitat loss. Despite a great deal of research on the physiology, reproductive biology, and diet of pandas in the wild and in captivity, there is little information on wild panda mortality. Here we integrate previously unavailable data on the mortality of wild pandas. We report on three recent phases of panda mortality: deaths due to bamboo flow…

Open Access•Shuyi Zhang, Bing Liang et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Primatology•2000

This study, based on three years of mating behavior observations and 10 years of birth records, reveals that Sichuan golden monkeys in captivity displayed a marked seasonality of mating behavior and births. The peak of matings occurred around October, and births occurred in March-June. The birth peak followed the mating peak by six to seven months. This seasonal cycle of matings and births was similar to observations made in the wild, where both …

The sleeping‐focused area of 94 ha, located in the center of the home range, was more frequently used for daily activities. Twenty‐six percent of the individuals spent the night in patawa palms, which account for only 0.…
