Love and Power in Mexico, Spain, and the United States
The semantic differential technique was used to examine the subjective meaning of the concepts "love" and "power" in Mexico, Spain, and the United States. The following groups were tested: 102 Mexicans and 97 Spaniards in Spanish and 78 Hispanic Americans and 79 Anglo Americans in English. All subjects were college-age students. An Item Response Theory Evaluation of an English Version of the Trier Personality Inventory (TPI)
The measurement equivalence of an English-language version of the Trier Personality Inventory (TPI) was evaluated, using statistical methods based on item response theory (IRT) to identity items that displayed differential item functioning (DIF).
