The purpose of this article is to: (a) explore and describe experiences of hope in the context of high-risk behaviors; and (b) identify sources of hope for participants dealing with an HIV diagnosis. Interpersonal process recall (IPR) interviewing uses video-assisted recall to access conscious yet unspoken experiences in professional caregiving interactions.
