Religion as Peace or Conflict
한국을 포함한 세계 곳곳에서 종교 갈등과 분쟁이 지속되고 있는 한편, 종교는 사회를 치유하고 평화를 건설하는 역할을 해나가기도 한다. 본 연구는 이러한 종교의 사회적 역할과 기능을 바탕으로 개인이 종교에 대해 갖는 고유한 인식을 ‘종교 스키마(religious schema)’로 개념화하였다. 그리고 이를 결정짓는 개인-국가 수준 요인들로 개인의 능동적이고 주도적인 종교성(종교 의례 참여도와 종교적 자기 묘사), 그리고 국가 취약성과의 연관성을 살펴보았다. 구체적으로 개인-국가 2수준 다항 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 2018년 국제사회조사프로그램의 45개국 55,148명의 표본 데이터를 분석하여, 개인이 종교를 갈등 요인으로 바라보는지(religion as conflict), 아니면 평화의 도구로 인식하는지(religion as peace), 혹은 중립적 입장을 취하는지에(neutral) 대한 개인…

Research on Values and Dual-Process Theory
본 논문은 20세기 중반 이후 전개된 가치 연구의 쇠퇴와 재건 과정을 정리하고, 최근 문화와 인지 사회학 분야에서 주목받고 있는 이중과정이론(Dual-Process Theory) 및 이를 반영한 새로운 연구 방법을 가치 연구에 어떻게 적용할 수 있는지 소개한다. 암묵적 인지(system 1, fast thinking)를 명시적인지(system 2, slow thinking)와 구분하는 이중과정이론에 따르면, 가치가 행위의 원인으로 상정되기 어렵다는 주장은 문화와 행위 사이의 관계를 논리적이고 규칙적인 명시적 인지 과정만으로 한정한다는 비판을 받는다. 가치 연구의 확장을 위해서는 암묵적 인지 과정에 대한 고려가 필요하다는 문제의식 아래, 본 논문에서는 약 600명의 성인을 대상으로 암묵적, 자동적 인지를 활성화하는 정서 오귀인 절차(Affect Misattribution Procedure)를 활용…
