  • Practice Diffusion

Open Access•Melissa Archpru Akaka, Hope Jensen Schau et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Consumer Research•2022•Cited by: 7•References: 84

Diffusion is traditionally examined at a macro level, measured by adoption (e.g., sales), or at a micro level, assessed by consumer characteristics (e.g., adopter types). We address diffusion at a meso level focusing on how a practice disseminates across extended time and cross-cultural and cross-national space. We conduct an historical analysis and ethnographic inquiry of the dispersion of an indigenous practice, surfing, and the consequences of…

Michael Barrett, Elsa Davidson et al.•ARTICLE•MIS Quarterly•2015

Over the last decade, there has been an increasing focus on service across socioeconomic sectors coupled with transformational developments in information and communication technologies (ICTs). Together these developments are engendering dramatic new opportunities for service innovation, the study of which is both timely and important. Fully understanding these opportunities challenges us to question conventional approaches that construe service …

  • Contextualization and value-in-context

    Open Access•Jennifer D Chandler, Stephen L Vargo•ARTICLE•Marketing Theory•2011

The purpose of this paper is to explore the role of context in service provision and, more broadly, in market co-creation. We oscillate foci from an individual actor at the micro level to a market at the macro level to make the scaleable influence of context more salient. This reveals the meso level, which is nestled between the micro and macro levels. We discuss how these market levels influence one another. We conceptualize markets as simultane…

  • Service-dominant logic

    Open Access•Robert F Lusch, Stephen L Vargo•ARTICLE•Marketing Theory•2006

As one of its own foundational premises implies, the value of service-dominant (S-D) logic is necessarily in its open, collaborative effort. Thus, the authors invite and welcome both elaborative and critical viewpoints. Five recurring, contentious issues among collaborating scholars, as they attempt to understand the full nature and scope of S-D logic, are identified. These issues are clarified and refined, as is appropriate to this co-creation o…

    Open Access•Robert F Lusch, I R Record et al.•BOOK•The service-dominant logic of…•2006

The micronucleus test using peripheral blood lymphocytes has been used to study the clastogenic effects of saturated, cis or trans fatty acids in human volunteers. Consumption of diets rich in either saturated fats (palmitic acid), monounsaturated cis fats (oleic acid) or monounsaturated trans fats (elaidic acid) for 3 wk had no effect on either the number of micronuclei or the frequency of micronucleated cells in lymphocytes in culture. This stu…
