Explaining the urban mechanisms behind OpenStreetMap updates
OpenStreetMap plays an increasingly important role as a global source of urban spatial data. It exhibits content incompleteness and uneven updating activity, but existing research offers only limited insight into why cities with similar urban characteristics display different updating dynamics. Understanding these processes is essential for interpreting how OpenStreetMap is maintained and for designing strategies to reduce persistent mapping ineq…

Aging and semantic transparency effects in Chinese reading
Compound words are stored in the mental lexicon as mixed representations, in which transparent words are represented by morphemes and opaque words are represented by whole words. Semantic transparency effects exhibit cross-age consistency which do not rely on valid preview information but instead stem from foveal in-depth processing. However, age differences in semantic integration become apparent in parafoveal preview processing which demands gr…

The distinct development of stimulus and response serial dependence
Serial dependence (SD) is a phenomenon wherein current perceptions are biased by the previous stimulus and response. This helps to attenuate perceptual noise and variability in sensory input and facilitates stable ongoing perceptions of the environment. However, little is known about the developmental trajectory of SD. This study investigates how the stimulus and response biases of the SD effect develop across three age groups. Conventional analy…
Microstructure abnormalities of the diffusion quantities in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder
The AFQ method can detect ADHD white matter abnormalities in a specific location with greater sensitivity, and the CB_R played a critical role. Our findings may be helpful in further studying the relationship between focal white matter abnormalities and ADHD
Psychological and sleep disturbances among first-line, second-line, and at home medical staff during the Covid-19 pandemic in Shanghai, China
Objectives Medical workers are prone to psychological and sleep disturbances during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Little is known about the varying degrees of influence among vaccinated medical staff working in different positions. The current study is aimed to evaluate and compare depression, anxiety and sleep disturbances among first-line, second-line and at home vaccinated medical staff during the COVID-19 pandemic in Shang…
Spatial disparities of self-reported Covid-19 cases and influencing factors in Wuhan, China
Knowledge socialism in the Covid-19 era
The inspiration for this collective writing project began with a digital conference entitled ‘Knowledge Socialism, COVID-19 and the New Reality of Education’ held at Beijing Normal University. In this conference and through this article, multiple researchers spread across six continents have engaged in the collaborative task of outlining emerging innovations and alternative contingencies towards education, international collaboration, and digital…
Psychometric Properties of the Chinese Version of the Positive Empathy Scale Among Undergraduates
We translated and examined the psychometric properties of a Chinese version of the Positive Empathy Scale (PES). Exploratory factor analysis ( N = 428) and confirmatory factor analysis ( N = 503) were performed on data from 2 undergraduate samples to examine the scale's construct validity, and the convergent, divergent, and concurrent validity, and test–retest reliability were also assessed ( n = 87). The analyses showed that the PES had a single…
