  • Identifying priority diseases and injuries to promote equality as measured by health-adjusted life expectancy

    Open Access•Jun-Yan Xi, Jun‐Yan Xi et al.•ARTICLE•BMJ Global Health•2026

STUDY OBJECTIVE: Promoting healthy lifespan equity is a pivotal challenge in the global wave of population ageing, aiming to enable the majority of people in today's long-lived societies to reach a similar age in good health. This study aims to develop a systematic analytical framework to identify age-specific priority diseases and injuries for intervention, thereby comprehensively improving healthy lifespan equity measured by health-adjusted lif…

Scholars have widely studied the impact of organizational capabilities on corporate operational performance. However, little attention has been paid to how digital and operational capabilities in resource-constrained environments shape firms’ business models and environmental performance. This study investigates how business analytics, resource bricolage, and industrial orientation capabilities relate to business model innovation (BMI) and ESG pe…

STUDY OBJECTIVE: Investing in health to improve healthy life expectancy (HLE) is fundamental to create a demographic dividend. However, how dramatic population ageing affects HLE remains unknown. This study aims to quantify and project the major diseases and injuries attributed to changes in population size and age structure that contributed to substantial losses in HLE. METHODS: Using data from 188 countries in the Global Burden of Disease Study…

China's basic education and higher education are currently facing policies aimed at reducing and increasing the academic burden, respectively. In this context, we first review and assess the methods of measuring students' academic burden and then apply the implicit association test for the first time to the academic burden of Chinese students from primary school to university under a unified framework. The results demonstrates that students' acad…

Open Access•Junzhi Zhang, Xiao He et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Assessing the bacteria pathogens in the lakes with reclaimed water as major influents are important for public health. This study investigated microbial communities of five landscape lakes replenished by reclaimed water, then analyzed driven factors and identified health effects of bacterial pathogens. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis demonstrated that Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Cyanobacteria, Firmicutes, and Verrucomicrobia were the most dom…

Open Access•Valery L Feigin, Emma Nichols et al.•ARTICLE•The Lancet Neurology•2019

BACKGROUND: Neurological disorders are increasingly recognised as major causes of death and disability worldwide. The aim of this analysis from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD) 2016 is to provide the most comprehensive and up-to-date estimates of the global, regional, and national burden from neurological disorders. METHODS: We estimated prevalence, incidence, deaths, and disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs;…

Open Access•Christina Fitzmaurice, Global Burden of Disease Cancer Collaboration et al.•ARTICLE•JAMA Oncology•2019

Importance Cancer and other noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) are now widely recognized as a threat to global development. The latest United Nations high-level meeting on NCDs reaffirmed this observation and also highlighted the slow progress in meeting the 2011 Political Declaration on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases and the third Sustainable Development Goal. Wenfeng FENG, Wen-Feng FENG et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2010

  • Characterization of Children’s Affective Decision Making

    X Y Li, Xiao-Jing Li et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2010
