  • A New Specimen of the Tritylodontid Bienotheroides zigongensis (Cynodontia, Mammaliamorpha) from the Wucaiwan Area of Xinjiang, China, and Phylogeny of Tritylodontidae

Open Access•Jicheng Ren, Lu Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Bulletin of the American Museum…•2025

Tritylodontidae is a Mesozoic group of small to medium-sized mammaliamorph cynodonts with cosmopolitan geographic distribution and characterized by possessing three mesiodistal rows of cusps in each of their upper postcanine teeth and two rows in the lower postcanines. Abundant tritylodontid materials have been discovered in Sichuan, Xinjiang, Yunnan, and other localities in China since 1938, but detailed description of their morphologies has bee…

  • Comparison of Egyptian and Canadian children on a picture apperception test

    Anastasia Barbopoulos, Fatmah Fisharah et al.•ARTICLE•Cultural Diversity & Ethnic…•2002•Cited by: 2•References: 4

Individualism-collectivism theory predicted that Egyptian and Canadian children's performance would differ on relevant scales of the Roberts Apperception Test for Children (RATC). • Cognitive components of picture naming

Carla J Johnson, Allan Paivio et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Bulletin•1996•Cited by: 6

A substantial research literature documents the effects of diverse item attributes, task conditions, and participant characteristics on the case of picture naming. The authors review what the research has revealed about 3 generally accepted stages of naming a pictured object: object identification, name activation, and response generation. They also show that dual coding theory gives a coherent and plausible account of these findings without posi…

    Open Access•James M Clark•ARTICLE•Journal of Teacher Education•1989•Cited by: 1•References: 13

National comparisons demonstrate that education students and graduates tend to obtain lower Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores than noneducation stu dents. Nonetheless some researchers assert that education students also ob tain grade point averages (GPAs) equiva lent to those of noneducation students at the same institutions and based on the same courses. Clark suggests a re conciliation of these two effects. Specifi cally, evidence is presen…

  • Norms for 204 Literary and 260 Nonliterary Metaphors on 10 Psychological Dimensions

Albert N Katz, Allan Paivio et al.•ARTICLE•Metaphor and Symbolic Activity•1988

Norms on 464 metaphors are presented for 10 dimensions representing ratings of comprehensibility, some perceived metaphoric qualities, imagery values, familiarity, and tenor-vehicle relatedness. The items were either literary metaphors selected from works of poetry (N = 204) or nonliterary metaphors generated by the experimenters (N = 260). Analyses of the normative data indicated that (a) the mean ratings of the metaphors were reliable (average …
