  • Catholic Charities' Neighbor to Neighbor

Iris Phillips, Martha Raske et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Religion & Spirituality…•2008

A faith‐based welfare‐to‐work program infused spiritual content throughout a 14‐session group intervention to improve client self‐sufficiency. To study the effectiveness of the program, investigators measured participant self‐ratings on 12 self‐sufficiency skills upon entry to and exit from the program, and documented goal attainment at six‐month follow‐up. Results showed that graduates reported statistically significant improvement in budgeting …

  • Anion-dependent modulation of [3H]muscimol binding and of Gaba-stimulated [3H]flunitrazepam binding by picrotoxin and related CNS convulsants

Open Access•Porntip Supavilai, Rachel Waterhouse et al.•ARTICLE•European Journal of Pharmacology•1982

Picrotoxin, isopropylbicyclophosphate (IPTBO) and related CNS-convulsants have allosteric effects on the binding of ligands to the GABA/benzodiazepine receptor complex. When binding experiments were performed at 23 degrees C and at 35 degrees C, these drugs inhibited [3H]muscimol binding and muscimol- or GABA-stimulated [3H]flunitrazepam binding, respectively. Both effects required the presence of C1-, Br-, I- but not of F- or SO4(2-). Picrotoxin…

  • Additional Evidence for Comparability of Set Two (Lists E, F, and G) of the Depression Adjective Check Lists

Open Access•Bernard Lubin, Marc Caplan et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1980

Forms E, F, and G of the Depression Adjective Check Lists (DACL) were administered to 240 college undergraduates. Half completed this “Actual” condition before random assignment either to a “Fake Good,” “Fake Bad,” or “Fake Average” condition, 20 males and 20 females per experimental condition, and half were randomly assigned first to one of the experimental conditions and then to the “Actual” condition. All 36 intercorrelations were significant …
