  • Community Detection and Hyperlink Prediction in Multilayer Hypergraphs

Open Access•Huan Wang, Jia-Le Zhao et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2026

Real-world systems often involve multiple interaction types and complex higher order relationships that go beyond simple pairwise connections, making multilayer hypergraphs a powerful framework for modeling such intricate structures. Community detection, a fundamental problem in network science, is particularly significant in the context of multilayer hypergraphs. However, existing research in this area remains limited. Current approaches often r…

  • Correlation between night sweats and season fluctuation in China

Open Access•Cai Chen, Meng Li et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Background: Night sweats are a condition in which an individual sweats excessively during sleep without awareness, and stops when they wake up. Prolonged episodes of night sweats might result in the depletion of trace elements and nutrients, affecting the growth and development of children. Purpose: To investigate the relationship between sweat nights and season. Method: The Internet search index for night sweats in Zhengzhou, China was obtained …

  • A 32-year trend analysis of lower respiratory infections in children under 5: Insights from the global burden of disease study 2021

Open Access•Yan Wang, Ru Han et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Objectives: Lower respiratory infections are the most significant health threat to children under 5 years old, leading to the highest disease burden across all age groups. This study aims to provide an up-to-date assessment of the global burden of lower respiratory infections in children under 5 years of age. Methods: This study utilizes data and methodologies from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021 to analyze changes in the burden of lower …

  • Effect of ambient particulate matter pollution on disease burden globally: A systematic analysis of the global burden of disease study 2021

Open Access•Xiaoxin Yan, Jie Han et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Particulate pollutants, particularly indoor PM, pose a significant global public health threat. Tailored strategies based on national conditions are urgently needed to mitigate their impact

  • Informal Taxation, Co‐Production and Political Gender Bias: A Theory of Voter Bias Against Women Village Leaders

    Open Access•P Schuler, Xiao Ding•ARTICLE•Governance•2025•References: 44

Are voters particularly biased against women holding village leadership positions? We initially theorize that traditional ceremonial roles drive anti‐woman bias for rural village leadership positions. Our results partially align with expectations. While we find that voters in rural areas are more biased against women as village leaders than for other positions, our results and follow‐up interviews suggest a different mechanism. We find that women…

  • Extracting Higher Order Topological Semantic via Motif-Based Deep Graph Neural Networks

Open Access•Ke-jia Zhang, Xiao Ding et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2024

Graph neural networks (GNNs) are efficient techniques for learning graph representations and have shown remarkable success in tackling diverse graph-related tasks. However, in the context of the neighborhood aggregation paradigm, conventional GNNs have limited capabilities in capturing the higher order structures and topological semantics of graphs. Researchers have attempted to overcome this limitation by designing new GNNs that explore the impa…

  • Prevalence, characteristics and risk factors of birth defects in central China livebirths, 2015–2022

Open Access•Ping Luo, Qian Li et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2024

Objective: This study analyzed the prevalence, epidemiological characteristics and risk factors of birth defects among livebirths in central China, aiming to provide evidences for the prevention of birth defects and government Decision-makings. Methods: Birth data from China's Hubei Province between 2015 and 2022 were collected, including basic information of the livebirths, the mothers and the fathers, as well as information about delivery and e…

  • The influence of two and three-dimensional spatial characteristics of industrial parks on the emotional well-being of employees: A case study of Shenzhen

Open Access•Xiao Ding, Botao Feng et al.•ARTICLE•Applied Geography•2024

  • Microbiota-derived short-chain fatty acids mediate the effects of dengzhan shengmai in ameliorating cerebral ischemia via the gut–brain axis

Open Access•Hui-Hui Guo, Huihui Guo et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2023

  • Promoting Healthy Relationships in Foster Care—“If I Had Seen What a Healthy Relationship Looks Like, that Would Have Changed My Perspective”

    Open Access•Barbara Ball, Sharon Hoefer et al.•ARTICLE•Violence Against Women•2023•Cited by: 1•References: 2

High levels of intimate partner violence among youth and young adults with history in foster care can perpetuate the cycle of violence and abuse. It is therefore important to understand how the experience of growing up in foster care impacts youths' understanding and formation of intimate relationships. This qualitative study centered the perspectives of young adults and investigated what they learned about relationships through interactions with…

  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy in Community-Based Services: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Studies

Open Access•C Franklin, Xiao Ding et al.•ARTICLE•Research on Social Work Practice•2023•Cited by: 2•References: 2

Purpose: Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) is practiced by social workers in clinical, community-based services, but no reviews of the outcome research have been completed. Methods: A meta-analysis of randomized studies. Outcome domains included depression, anxiety, behavioral health, health and wellbeing, family functioning, and psychosocial adjustment. Results: Twenty-eight studies with 340 effect sizes were analyzed in meta-regression with…

  • Soidp: Predicting Interlayer Links in Multiplex Networks

Open Access•Xiao Ding, Chuang Ma et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2022

Many link prediction algorithms regarding single-layer social networks have been proposed, and however, how to predict interlayer links in multiplex social networks is still in the initial stage. In fact, the prediction of interlayer links in multiplex networks is of great significance, which is closely related to network security, product recommendation, social network mining, and so forth. Given that many social networks are sparse and the numb…

  • Age-related differences of different components of working memory: The predictive effect on strategy utilization in arithmetic

Xiao Ding, Na Lv et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2017
