    This paper is concerned with a phenomenon that has in previous descriptions been labelled 'glottal reinforcement', 'pre-glottalization' or 'glottalization' (for discussion of 'glottal replacement' and the distinction between 'full' and 'pre-' glottalization see below, 10.1).
