Error annotation and analysis of a (semi-)specialised English-French learner translation corpus
This study aims to identify students’ main difficulties when translating (semi-)specialised texts on the basis of an error-annotated English-French learner translation corpus. Students are M1 students in a translation training programme. The corpus contains two textual genres, namely research articles and popularisation articles. We use the same translation error annotation scheme for both text types as well as a corpus-based analysis. We then ai…
Rapport du groupe de travail Traductions et science ouverte
Le rapport présente un état de l’art des technologies de la traduction, des bonnes pratiques d’usage et des pistes d’action afin d’optimiser les processus de traduction de la production scientifique. Et ainsi favoriser, au sein des sociétés des pays non anglophones, l'accès au savoir issu de la recherche, l’un des principes fondamentaux de la science ouverte
Teaching Specialised Translation Through Corpus Linguistics
In the current context of rapid and constant evolution of global communication and specialised discourses, the need for devising methods for ensuring both high quality levels of specialised translation and successful translation training is becoming a true challenge.

The impact of metaphorical framing on term creation in biology
The present paper is an in-depth study of the lexical units transferred by metaphorical extension from general English to the field of biology, based on the analysis of a 20 million word corpus of scientific articles. Terminological metaphors are analysed both as keys to cognitive processes involved in scientific activity and as linguistic units. We examine the role metaphors play in the evolution of the discipline, as well as the process by whic…
