  • Would you let your car feed the grid? Comparing vehicle-to-grid smart charging preferences across six European countries

Open Access•Anders Fjendbo Jensen, Stefan Eriksen Mabit et al.•ARTICLE•Energy Research & Social Science•2026

  • Let’s walk! The fallacy of urban first- and last-mile public transport

    Open Access•Jeppe Rich•ARTICLE•Transportation•2026

In recent years, there has been an upsurge in intelligent mobility solutions that provide door-to-door services. Although these services offer convenience to certain individuals, it is frequently overlooked that they can lead to welfare losses when accounting for the reduced health benefits that result from reduced physical activity. In this paper, we derive a welfare function of introducing first- and last-mile public transport services. By comp…

  • Spatial differences in PEV demand: The case of Denmark

Open Access•Stefan Lindhard Mabit, Stefan E Mabit et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Transport Geography•2026•References: 1

  • Riding smooth: A cost-benefit assessment of surface quality on Copenhagen’s bicycle network

Open Access•Dimitrios Argyros, Anders Fjendbo Jensen et al.•ARTICLE•Sustainable Cities and Society•2024

A growing body of research acknowledges the substantial societal benefits of improved bicycle infrastructure, with recent studies highlighting the significant impact of road surface quality on comfort, safety, and accessibility of cycling. In this paper, we present a cost-benefit assessment of improved surface quality for the City of Copenhagen. The study focuses solely on improved accessibility through higher travel speed, where two large-scale …

  • Charging behaviour and range anxiety in long-distance EV travel: An adaptive choice design study

Open Access•Mikkel Thorhauge, Jeppe Rich et al.•ARTICLE•Transportation•2024

This paper presents a novel adaptive stated choice experiment to capture range anxiety during long-distance travel. It is assumed that respondents have forward-looking properties allowing them to select from a set of charging alternatives along the route or postpone charging for a later (choice) stage. Data was collected among members of the Danish electric car association. Based on this data, we develop a mixed logit model that reveals several i…

  • Optimal placement and sizing of charging infrastructure for EVs under information-sharing

Open Access•Christian Anker Vandet, Jeppe Rich•ARTICLE•Technological Forecasting and…•2023

In the next decade, charging demand from an increasing number of electric vehicles will require the charging infrastructure to be further developed. However, the planning of an optimal charging infrastructure is a complex problem as it involves representation of charging demand in space and time, interaction with supply through queuing models and optimisation of placements and sizing of charging stations. The paper takes on this challenge by prop…

  • Our children cycle less - A Danish pseudo-panel analysis

Open Access•Jeppe Rich, Marcus Skyum Myhrmann et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Transport Geography•2022•References: 1

In this paper, we investigate the dynamics of cycling demand for the population of Denmark. Using pseudo-panels based on large-scale cross-sectional data, we analyse the temporal stability of cycling demand preferences for different age cohorts in combination with residential city sizes. Cycling demand is decomposed into two effects. Firstly, a population ’selection’ effect that explains the probability of being a cyclist, i.e. engaged in cycling…

  • Introducing synthetic pseudo panels: Application to transport behaviour dynamics

    Open Access•Stanislav S Borysov, Jeppe Rich•ARTICLE•Transportation•2021

  • Autonomous vehicles in mixed motorway traffic: Capacity utilisation, impact and policy implications

Open Access•Andrea Papu Carrone, Jeppe Rich et al.•ARTICLE•Transportation•2021

  • The role of intention as mediator between latent effects and behavior: Application of a hybrid choice model to study departure time choices

Open Access•Mikkel Thorhauge, Elisabetta Cherchi et al.•ARTICLE•Transportation•2019

  • Cost damping and functional form in transport models

Open Access•Jeppe Rich, Stefan Lindhard Mabit•ARTICLE•Transportation•2016

  • Valuation of travel time for international long-distance travel – results from the Fehmarn Belt stated choice experiment

Open Access•Stefan Lindhard Mabit, Jeppe Rich et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Transport Geography•2013•Cited by: 1•References: 1

  • On structural inelasticity of modal substitution in freight transport

Open Access•Jeppe Rich, Ole Kveiborg et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Transport Geography•2009•Cited by: 1

  • Road Pricing and its Consequences for Individual Travel Patterns

Stefan Schönfelder, Jeppe Rich et al.•ARTICLE•Mobilities•2007•Cited by: 1•References: 4

While mobility pricing is discussed as a suitable tool for tackling urban traffic problems, its impact on the travel pattern of individuals is largely unexplored. Individual responses to pricing emerge as a number of different changes. As an example, it involves the reduction in actual trip‐making, more efficient route‐choice decisions, trip chaining, and change of destination choice. The analysis of reliable data seems necessary to gain a deeper…

  • Assessment of Traffic Noise Impacts

Jeppe Rich, JEPPE HUSTED RICH et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2004

A steady growth in traffic intensities in most urban areas throughout the world has forced planners and politicians to seriously consider the resulting environmental impact, such as traffic noise, accidents and air pollution. The assessment of such negative factors is needed in order to reveal the true social benefit of infrastructure plans. The paper presents a noise assessment model for the Copenhagen region, which brings together GIS technolog…
