Patterns of trade in third-millennium BC Mesopotamia and Iran
Southern Mesopotamia's lack of most raw materials made it dependent to an unusual degree on trade and other forms of procurement from foreign lands. The appearance of wide‐ranging trading networks extending far into the surrounding highlands of Anatolia and Iran may be traced in the archaeological record of the late fourth and third millennia. Foreign Stone Vessels of the Late Third Millennium B.C. from Southern Mesopotamia
It has long been realized that much of the stonework recovered from sites in southern Mesopotamia must have been imported, either as finished artefacts or as raw lumps which were then fashioned locally. The rare outcrops of stone which occur in the alluvium, principally around Uruk and Ur, are restricted to limestone and its light-coloured derivatives (calcite, gypsum, etc.). Recollection of a Transitional Object and Needs for Intimacy and Affiliation in Adolescents
A number of researchers have shown that the absence or misuse of a transitional object, e.g., a soft toy or blanket, with special meaning to a small child, is associated with later cognitive or character disorders. This paper shows that recall of a transitional object is related to personality characteristics of normal adolescents.
