  • Caffeinated Soda Intake in Children Is Associated with Neurobehavioral Risk Factors for Substance Misuse

Mina Kwon, Hyeonjin Kim et al.•ARTICLE•Substance Use & Misuse•2024

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Use of psychotropic substances in childhood has been associated with both impulsivity and other manifestations of poor executive function as well as escalation over time to use of progressively stronger substances. However, how this relationship may start in earlier childhood has not been well explored. Here, we investigated the neurobehavioral correlates of daily caffeinated soda consumption in preadolescent children a…

  • Late Quaternary transpressional earthquakes on a long-lived intraplate fault

    Open Access•Youngbeom Cheon, Jin-Hyuck Choi et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2020

  • Revenue volatility and forecast errors

    Tae-Ho Lee, Tae‐ho Lee et al.•ARTICLE•Local Government Studies•2020•Cited by: 1•References: 25

We empirically analysed the effects of revenue volatility on forecast errors using a panel data set of Korean local governments over the period 2002–2016. Panel data analyses, conducted for acquisition tax, local education tax, and total tax revenue, found that revenue volatility has statistically significant and consistent effects on forecast errors. These findings carry both theoretical and policy implications. In theoretical terms, they sugges…

  • Arousal increases neural gain via the locus coeruleus-noradrenaline system in younger adults but not in older adults

    Open Access•Tae-Ho Lee, Tae‐ho Lee et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Human Behaviour•2018•Cited by: 1•References: 63

  • How arousal modulates the visual contrast sensitivity function

    Tae-Ho Lee, Tae‐ho Lee et al.•ARTICLE•Emotion•2014

Recent evidence indicates that emotion enhances contrast thresholds in subsequent visual perception (Phelps, Ling, & Carrasco, 2006) and perceptual sensitivity for low-spatial frequency but not high-spatial frequency targets (Bocanegra & Zeelenberg, 2009b). However, these studies just report responses to various frequencies at a fixed contrast level or responses to various contrasts at a fixed frequency. In the current study, we measured the full…

  • Conditioning-induced attentional bias for face stimuli measured with the emotional Stroop task

    Tae-Ho Lee, Tae‐ho Lee et al.•ARTICLE•Emotion•2009

People with anxiety disorder display attentional bias toward threat-related objects. Using classical fear conditioning, the authors investigated the possible source of such bias in normal participants. Following differential fear conditioning in which an angry face of either male or female (conditioned stimulus: CS+) was paired with mild electric fingershock (unconditioned stimulus: US) but the angry face of the other gender and all other facial …
