Brief Posttraumatic Maladaptive Beliefs Scale (B-PMBS)
These findings challenge the structural validity of the original PMBS and support the psychometric validity of the B-PMBS across diverse populations. Its reliability and brevity make the B-PMBS a valuable tool for clinicians and researchers seeking to identify and address posttraumatic cognitions in various settings. Self‐Stigma of Help‐Seeking After Adverse Childhood Experiences
Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), including childhood abuse, neglect, and household dysfunction, are commonly reported; however, further research is needed to explore the psychological mechanisms that may contribute to self‐stigma surrounding help‐seeking among individuals with ACEs. To address this gap, this study investigated the relationship between ACEs and self‐stigma of help‐seeking (SSOHS), focusing on the mediating roles of event cent…
Posttraumatic Appraisals Mediate the Relationship Between Childhood Psychological Abuse and Complex PTSD Symptom Severity
Previous research established a connection between childhood psychological abuse (CPA), a common but understudied form of child maltreatment, and symptoms of posttraumatic stress. However, the connection between CPA and complex PTSD remains underexplored. This study investigated the relationship between CPA, posttraumatic appraisals (i.e., fear, alienation, betrayal, self‐blame, anger, and shame), and complex PTSD symptoms among a sample of 263 c…
Introduction to Trauma-Informed Counselor Education and Supervision (Tices) Framework
Many counselors in training may be susceptible to traumatization and/or retraumatization during their training process due to the elevated prevalence of their past trauma experience and the nature of their professional work involving exposure to trauma narratives in coursework and during fieldwork. Recognizing the growing need for a trauma-informed approach in training future helping professionals, including counselors-in-training, we present an …

The fading light of urban regeneration in a sewing neighbourhood in Seoul
This paper presents an ethnographic study of the Changsin-dong neighbourhood in Seoul, specifically focusing on urban development issues in the area, in which small-scale sewing workshops are agglomerated in the heart of the city. Under the names ‘community alive’ and ‘existing urban manufacturing area,’ Changsin-dong was designated as a leading area for urban regeneration in Seoul, and urban regeneration was implemented in 2014. Consequently, ur…
Shared genetic architectures of educational attainment in East Asian and European populations
Educational attainment (EduYears), a heritable trait often used as a proxy for cognitive ability, is associated with various health and social outcomes. Previous genome-wide association studies (GWASs) on EduYears have been focused on samples of European (EUR) genetic ancestries. Here we present the first large-scale GWAS of EduYears in people of East Asian (EAS) ancestry ( n = 176,400) and conduct a cross-ancestry meta-analysis with EduYears GWA…

The agency of secondary states in order transition in the Indo-Pacific
The liberal international order (LIO) is now in a complex crisis. Its legitimacy and sustainability are put to the test with the growth of deglobalization forces, the rise of emerging powers dissatisfied with the LIO designed by the US, and climate change and the global pandemic. The crisis of the LIO is particularly salient in the Indo-Pacific, the epicenter of the US-China strategic competition, and secondary states in this region are increasin…
Ultrasound-Guided Popliteal Nerve Block with Short-Acting Lidocaine in the Surgical Treatment of Ingrown Toenails
PB was a less painful anesthetic procedure associated with a longer sensory block duration and fewer repeat injections compared with DB. The result of this study implicates that PB can be an alternative anesthetic option in the surgical treatment of ingrown toenails

Principles of Developing Lexicon in Artificial Languages
Even though the importance of the lexicon has not always been focus of mainstream language acquisition research, it is widely accepted that the lexicon is an integral element of language. Therefore, it was argued in this paper that effective strategies to build up the lexicon should be carefully considered when artificial languages are developed. To support this argument, an experiment of two groups (i.e., an experimental and control group) of un…
Gender Differences in the Longitudinal Association between Work-Related Injury and Depression
Little is known about gender differences in the association between occupational injury and depression. We investigated the bidirectional association and gender differences between work-related injury and depression using the same cohort in the US Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS). In Analysis 1, the association of occupational injury and subsequent depression was investigated from 35,155 employees without depression. Analysis 2 included 32…
Field Application of Modified In Situ Soil Flushing in Combination with Air Sparging at a Military Site Polluted by Diesel and Gasoline in Korea
In this study the full-scale operation of soil flushing with air sparging to improve the removal efficiency of petroleum at depths of less than 7 m at a military site in Korea was evaluated. The target area was polluted by multiple gasoline and diesel fuel sources. The soil was composed of heterogeneous layers of granules, sand, silt and clay. The operation factors were systemically assessed using a column test and a pilot study before running th…
Work-Related Risk Factors by Severity for Acute Pesticide Poisoning Among Male Farmers in South Korea
The objective of this study was to explore work-related risk factors of acute occupational pesticide poisoning among male farmers according to the severity of the poisoning. A nationwide sampling survey of male farmers was conducted in South Korea in 2011. A total of 1,958 male farmers were interviewed. Severity of occupational pesticide poisoning in 2010 was evaluated according to symptoms, types of treatment, and number of pesticide poisoning i…
Depression as a psychosocial consequence of occupational injury in the US working population
Workers with occupational injury were more likely to become depressed than those with non-occupational injury. The psychosocial consequences of occupational injury, including depression, deserve further exploration to adequately support those injured at work. This finding also emphasizes a need for early intervention to reduce the burden of depression associated with occupational injury
Fiscal autonomy of korean local governments and intergovernmental relations in the 1990s
This paper reviews Korean intergovernmental relations in the 1990s with an emphasis on fiscal relations among the different levels of the government. In the 1990s, Korea reinvigorated its system of local autonomy first established in the sixties. A major issue in the implementation of this system is the presence of vertical and horizontal disparities in local fiscal capacity. Although some efforts have been made to transfer tax sources from centr…
