Creating an Integrated Care Fellowship in Rural Ireland
This paper outlines the need for developing a new training model for Integrated Care Medical Consultants in rural Northern Ireland, how the model was developed in collaboration with key stakeholders in the community using ECHO methodology, the implementation of the Integrated Care Fellowship scheme and the potential that this model offers for other rural areas where there are medical workforce challenges. Crisis or opportunity? Turkey, Greece and the political economy of South-East Europe in the 2010s
During the 2000s, the European Union (EU) and the euro zone provided anchors for regional integration in South-East Europe including the Western Balkans. Today’s crisis has called into question the credibility but not the desirability of that framework, and regional actors can still mobilize building blocks forged in the past decade for much needed bottom-up reforms. The process could be galvanized by a regional insider with economic and politica…

A Symposium on the New Fight for Fluorides
State dental directors were surveyed in spring 1984 regarding fluoridation and fluoride programs. Forty-four states reported existing fluoride mouth-rinse programs in schools; 22, fluoride tablets in schools. About 90 percent of directors felt that support for fluoride programs by state departments of health and constituent dental societies either had remained the same or increased over the previous five years. Approximately half felt the antiflu…
