    Open Access•Robert H Brown•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•1986•Cited by: 1•References: 4

Composite curvature averages for 14 C age depth profiles of deep ocean sediment, continental sediment, and soil each indicate a global trend for 14 C age increment per cm depth to increase with 14 C age over the range for which a definitive statistical sample is available. The global trend indicated for peat profiles is constant 14 C age increment per cm depth over the past 10,000 14 C yr. Correlation coefficients between changes in 14 C yr/cm an…

  • The Delay in Visual Reorientation following Exposure to a Change in Direction of Resultant Force on a Human Centrifuge

ASHTON GRAYBIEL, Robert H Brown•ARTICLE•The Journal of General Psychology•1951

Three subjects were exposed on a human centrifuge to a change in direction of resultant G relative to the body axis. Under the conditions of the experiment the illusion was created wherein a horizontal target line appeared to rotate through an angle corresponding to the change in direction of the resultant force. The subject's task was to keep the line horizontal at all times. Thus, if the line appeared to rotate clockwise, the subject actually r…
