This article provides a methodologically oriented case study of the application of Large Language Models (LLMs) in Islamic studies. Its empirical focus is on 20 thousand e‐fatwas from the website askimam.org . Snow albedo and its sensitivity to changes in deposited light-absorbing particles estimated from ambient temperature and snow depth observations at a high-altitude site in the Himalaya
Snow darkening by deposited light-absorbing particles (LAP) accelerates snowmelt and shifts the snow melt-out date (MOD). Here, we present a simple approach to estimate the snow albedo variability due to LAP deposition and test this method with data for 2 seasons (February–May 2016 and December 2016–June 2017) at a high-altitude valley site in the Central Himalayas, India. The aim of this article is to illustrate how highly rudimentary computer-assisted text analysis can aid the preliminary mapping of public discourse. The case that has been chosen is the use of a particular combination of words, ‘radical’ and ‘Muslim’, in a corpus of articles published in the Swedish printed news media which have been accessed through the database Mediearkivet.
