Eurasia’s transition from colder winters to hotter summers driven by North Atlantic air–sea interaction and Arctic sea ice anomalies
Extreme cold winters and hot summers over Eurasia are intensifying under global warming, posing substantial risks to agriculture, ecosystems, and human health. Here, we show that a colder winter tends to be followed by a hotter summer over Eurasia. This winter-summer extreme temperature reversal is linked to the phase switch of the Arctic oscillation (AO) from winter to summer, which is driven by the North Atlantic air–sea interaction and Arctic …
Impact of North America snow cover on tropical cyclogenesis over the western North Pacific
This study reveals a connection of summer–fall (JJASO) tropical cyclone (TC) genesis over the western North Pacific (WNP) to preceding boreal spring (MAM) North America snow cover (NASC). Sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies in the tropical central Pacific and subtropical eastern Pacific play a crucial role in relaying influence of the MAM NASC on the following JJASO WNP TC genesis frequency. The increased NASC leads to a decrease in upward se…
The Influence of Heritage Tourism Destination Reputation on Tourist Consumption Behavior: A Case Study of World Cultural Heritage Shaolin Temple
The increasing drastic competition between tourism destinations decides on only the sites with good reputation can attract more and more tourists. The tourism destination reputation will affect tourists' choices before traveling and consumption behavior during traveling. In order to analyze tourist consumption behavior during traveling, this article initially builds a theoretical model of tourism destination reputation, tourist enjoyment, tourist…
