  • Development and assessment of the health-related quality of life scale for children with hearing loss in China

Open Access•Jie Liu, Yuxiao Wang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

The HRQOL-CHL exhibits positive reliability, validity, and feasibility, which makes it an efficient QoL assessment tool for children with hearing loss in China

  • Household registration, employment status and health

Open Access•Zhihua Tang, Guohua Zeng et al.•ARTICLE•Asian and Pacific migration journal•2025•References: 25

According to the Seventh National Population Census, individuals aged 65 and older accounted for 13.5 percent of China’s population in 2020, signifying the nation’s transition into a deeply aging society. With urbanization and labor market restructuring, understanding the characteristics and employment quality of elderly migrant workers is crucial. This study uses the 2018 China Migrant Population Dynamic Monitoring Survey to analyze individual t…

  • Association between alcohol consumption and kidney stones in American adults

Open Access•Zhen Zhou, Zhicong Huang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2023

Purpose: To investigate the association between alcohol consumption and kidney stones in American adults. Materials and methods: National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) datasets from 2007 to 2016 were utilized. Participants with a history of kidney stones and alcohol consumption aged 20 or older were included. Weighted proportions and regression analysis were used to assess the association between alcohol consumption and kidney …

  • Determinants of Social Commerce Purchase and Recommendation Intentions Within the Context of Swift Guanxi Among Chinese College Students

Open Access•Isaac Kofi Mensah, Guohua Zeng et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2023

This study examined the factors determining social commerce purchase and recommendation intentions within the context of swift guanxi. The data analysis was conducted with Smart PLS 3.0 using the structural equation modeling technique. The results have illustrated that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use were significant in determining both the recommendation and social commerce purchase intentions. In addition, eWOM was also a signifi…

  • Theorising TikTok cultures

    Open Access•Jian Lin, Joëlle Swart et al.•ARTICLE•Media Culture & Society•2023•Cited by: 4•References: 26

Instead of viewing TikTok as a platform, in this article we borrow Dutch film theorist Patricia Pisters’s concept of neuro-images to approach TikTok as a cultural form that is deeply participatory, platform contingent, and algorithmically engraved. In the co-production between algorithms and users, TikTok becomes an enormous database and generates personalised narratives about individuals and the world onto and through its ‘brain-screen’ interfac…

  • The behavioral intention to adopt mobile health services

Open Access•Isaac Kofi Mensah, Guohua Zeng et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

This study explored the moderating impact of mobile self-efficacy on the adoption of mobile health services. The UTAUT was used as the theoretical foundation for this study. The results have indicated that mobile self-efficacy was significant in moderating the impact of both performance expectancy (β = −0.005, p 0.05) and effort expectancy (β = 0.406, t = 7.577, p > 0.05) do not determine the behavioral intention to use mobile health services. Ef…

  • Exploring the E-Learning Adoption Intentions of College Students Amidst the Covid-19 Epidemic Outbreak in China

Open Access•Isaac Kofi Mensah, Guohua Zeng et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2022•References: 95

This research paper investigated the adoption behavior of college students toward the e-learning system amidst the current COVID-19. The model was developed and validated based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze the data. The data was generated from 316 Chinese college students based on the convenient sampling technique. The research outcomes indicate t…

  • Exploring the Predictors of Chinese College Students' Entrepreneurial Intention

Open Access•Isaac Kofi Mensah, Guohua Zeng et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2021•References: 81

The development and promotion of entrepreneurial behavior is an important ingredient in developing entrepreneurship ventures. This study examined the factors influencing college students' intention to engage in entrepreneurial activities. Applying the Theory of Planned Behavior as the theoretical foundation the structural equation modeling technique through Smart PLS 3.0 was used to analyze the hypothesized relationship in this study. The results…

  • E-Government Services Adoption

    Open Access•Isaac Kofi Mensah, Guohua Zeng et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2020•Cited by: 1•References: 73

This study proposed and validated an extension of the unified model of electronic government adoption (UMEGA). The data analysis was conducted with a structural equation modeling technique using Smart PLS 3.0. The results have demonstrated contrary to expectations that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence do not predict the attitude toward the use of e-government services. Facilitating conditions, however, were found to…

  • Determinants of the Continued Intention of College Students in China to Use DiDi Mobile Car-Sharing Services

Open Access•Isaac Kofi Mensah, Zhao Tianyu et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2019•References: 64

This research paper examined the continued intention of college students to use DiDi mobile car-sharing services in China. The unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) was used as the theoretical framework while the data analysis was completed with SPSS. The results have demonstrated that performance expectancy, reliability, efficiency, and security and privacy were significant predictors of the continued intention to use mobile…
