  • Capital Constraints: How Bank Regulation Shapes Firm Export Behaviour

    Open Access•Yong Ma, Yiqing Jiang•ARTICLE•World Economy•2026

This study investigates the impact of bank capital regulation on firms' export behaviour within a two‐country theoretical framework that explicitly incorporates the banking sector. We show that more stringent capital requirements discourage firms from exporting and reduce export scale by increasing financing costs through tighter lending conditions. Using a comprehensive dataset of listed firms in China, we find that higher bank capital adequacy …

  • Tourists’ risk perceptions and pro-environmental behaviour during the pandemic: The roles of environmental concern and environmental ethics reflection

Yong Ma, Haiyan Tang et al.•ARTICLE•Current Issues in Tourism•2025

The COVID-19 pandemic has served as a stark reminder to humanity of the urgent need to address environmental concerns. Given the intricate links between tourism and ecological issues, whether perceived risks during the pandemic can foster pro-environmental behaviour through increased concern and reflection about environmental challenges. Drawing on social cognitive theory, this study delves into the mechanisms that shape how visitors’ risk percep…

  • Research on the Effects of Environmental Factors on the Emission of Volatile Organic Compounds from Plastic Track

Open Access•Gan Liu, Weitao Zheng et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

The volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released from a plastic track can cause stimulation and damage to the human body; the temperature, relative humidity (RH) and air exchange rate (AER) have a significant impact on the release of VOCs from materials. In this study, we used a 0.1 m 3 environmental chamber; a qualitative and quantitative analysis of VOCs released from a plastic track was conducted by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry with a te…

  • Green Development Performance Evaluation Based on Dual Perspectives of Level and Efficiency: A Case Study of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, China

Open Access•Rui Zhang, Yong Ma et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

In the context of continuing to promote the construction of an ecological civilization, it is of great significance to explore green development performance. However, most of the literature is based on a single perspective of level or efficiency, lacking a comprehensive examination of both. It is not scientific to explore how to promote green development only from a single perspective, which may be a new advancement by breaking the conventional t…

  • Analysis of the Green Development Effects of High-Speed Railways Based on Eco-Efficiency: Evidence from Multisource Remote Sensing and Statistical Data of Urban Agglomerations in the Middle Reaches of…

Open Access•Xiangjing Zeng, Yong Ma et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

As part of the modern transport infrastructure, high-speed railways (HSRs) have been considered an important factor affecting eco-efficiency (EE). This study used multisource remote sensing and statistical data from 185 counties representing urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River (UAMRYR) in China from 2009 to 2018. The study integrated ArcGIS analysis, the Super-SBM (super slack-based measure) model, and the DSPDM (dynam…

  • Drivers’ Attention Strategies before Eyes-off-Road in Different Traffic Scenarios: Adaptation and Anticipation

Open Access•Zhuofan Liu, Wei Yuan et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

The distribution of drivers' visual attention prior to diverting focus from the driving task is critical for safety. The object of this study is to investigate drivers' attention strategy before they occlude their vision for different durations under different driving scenarios. A total of 3 (scenarios) × 3 (durations) within-subjects design was applied. Twenty-three participants completed three durations of occlusion (0, 1, and 2 s) test drive i…

  • Health care utilization for patients with stroke: A 3-year cross-sectional study of China’s two urban health insurance schemes across four cities

Open Access•Yong Yang, Stephen Nichola et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2021

Significant city-specific differences in stroke patients' healthcare utilization and medical costs reflected inequalities in health care access. The fragmented social health insurance schemes in China should be consolidated to provide patients in different cities equal financial protection and benefit packages and to improve the equity of stroke patient access to health care
